I have always looked forward to going to the Spruce House. It was a must on our shopping in Estes. However after going today you can tell the shop is not what it used to be. They no longer play Christmas music or display the fun Christmas count down out front, which always made it kinda magical. The ornaments and other items are ones you can purchase at other stores now days, for less, but I choose to shop here to support them. To top off my shopping experience I had accidentally broke an ornament while shopping. I brought it to the employee and said, "I'm sorry the tail on this dog broke off." She responded by saying "well you have to pay for it." I was shocked how rude she was. I have NEVER seen a store respond in such a way. I understand I accidentally broke it, but the rudeness and to actually make one pay was kinda shocking. After this I've just decided to take my business elsewhere. There are other Christmas shops there and I'm happy to give them...

This store is not the place to go. Today my family went into this store for a nice family outing. This store is packed and a true hoarder’s paradise. My grandma turned to check out an ornament and her jacket accidentally snagged on a low placed glass piece which caused it to fall and break. My grandma apologized profusely and offered to pay for it and help clean it up. He charged her for the accident that he saw happen! If a store doesn’t have a discretionary fund for things like this they’re obviously not good business owners. You don’t charge an old lady for an accidentally broken glass piece placed in an awkward place. Absolutely insane. There are plenty of cute Christmas shops in Estes that will be getting our business...

What happened to this place?? We’ve been making a family trip to this little Christmas Cottage for years. We walked in today and it smells AWFUL!! There’s a very strong smell of urine that hits you as soon as you walk in. There’s no Christmas music playing except from a little Bluetooth speaker in one of the rooms. You could only hear it if you were staring right next to the speaker. All of the ornaments are very over-priced now, and they’re the same ornaments that you can get at Hobby Lobby for half of the price. There were 17 of us there together this afternoon for our annual family trip, and we unanimously voted to find a new place to go. How sad, this place used to...
