We stopped here on pure instinct after a long day/hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. After being hailed on and falling through the snow, we were immediately drawn towards piping hot pizza. We ordered a large cheese pizza and were unfortunately utterly disappointed. How does this place have so many positive reviews?

Maybe it was a bad day, but scouring the comments here confirms our suspicion that the crust on their pizza is absolutely disgusting. It's really hard to describe, but it essentially has the consistency of Styrofoam/cardboard/rubber and tasted like old and dried out, freezer burned dough. Despite being hungry it was really hard to get down. Pro tip, covering the pizza in BBQ sauce helped a little bit. As for the sauce, it was a little different than what we're used to, it had almost a sweetness to it. We didn't quite care for it, but I could see other people with different tastes enjoying it.

I should note this review is directed at their pizza, as we didn't try their pasta or sandwiches, which may be pretty good. The location is a great spot and easily accessible, and I loved the decor and style of the restaurant. Also, the staff was perfectly fine if not unnoticeable, and did not contribute to this review. Ultimately though, given that "Pizza" is the theme of their name, we were really disappointed with what we received, particularly considering how expensive their pizza is, which really torpedoed our experience. Being honest, I think next time I'd rather just give them money to not...

We noticed the smell from walking by and decided to get lunch here. I ordered a gluten free pizza with double pepperoni, spinach, and Canadian bacon. My husband got a 10 inch pizza with double pepperoni, double cheese, and garlic. We sat and waited for our pizzas at a pretty dirty table, I wiped it down before we sat. The wait didn't take too long, but after eating 2 slices of my pizza I noticed I had no pepperoni. When I mentioned it to a staff member he informed me they were training people and might have messed up and offered me a new one but I was fine , I just wanted to let them know so it didn't happen to anyone else. The gluten free crust tasted like an Udis crust, which was expected, and the spinach and Canadian bacon were just your usual toppings. The sauce however was very good and flavorful. We could taste lots of herbs and spices which we love. The cheese was also very good and when you pulled up a slice of pizza it did that tasty stretchy thing, you know what I'm talking about. My husband said the regular crust was ok, but he prefers a more "doughy" taste? I'm not sure what that means. But he said they definitely feel like they're frozen crusts. Overall though the pizza was good, not terrible, not the best ever, but definitely good. And the prices were reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful....

Parked in the handicapped parking in the back lot. Walked in the back entrance where the “Opened” sign was on the door, where there was a menu sign standing inside the entrance - waited for someone to seat us for several minutes. Nobody ever acknowledged us, so someone from our group walked to the front entrance to ask if we’d be helped, only to be told we’d have to walk around to the front, to get into the line there to be helped. After explaining the situation and as to why we were in the back, we were told to have a seat at a table and someone would come help us at our table, rather than having to wait in the cafeteria- like line. We did as told- waited at the tables for several minutes ... nobody came to help. We asked again if we’d be helped only THEN to be told again, that we would have to get up and go to the front of the restaurant and actually get into the line.

  1. Why have the back entrance opened? And if you’re going to have it opened, why not have a sign stating that you’ll need to go the front? This would be helpful for the handicapped. A “heads up”.

  2. It wasn’t appreciated that one employee stated one thing and a second employee stated another. Maybe get facts in order?

Our party walked out and went to a different restaurant and spent our money there and was treated...

Sub par pizza with sub par customer service, came in around lunch time and it was pretty busy, but it seemed like my order didnt get taken seriously or with caring customer service. The staff was yelling at their employees in front customers, and not maintaining a professional atmosphere. A customer hadn't heard their name called to receive their food, and it had gotten set aside and was cold. Instead of apologizing and making a new pizza the employee argued with the customer and blamed them for this. I find this very upsetting and unprofessional. As for the pizza I had the opportunity to try several of the local pizzerias. This by far used the most basic of ingredients, and the cheapest. The crust was bland and the sauce lacked flavor. The ingredients used were cheap and put minimally on the pizza. Im not totally sure what style crust they used was, but I would compare it to a frozen pizza crust that didn't rise. The staff kept drinks and food in the kitchen area that they ate. The one good thing is the old style appearance of the restaurant. I liked the way it looked. There is a lot of room for improvement between the food and customer service that can be made. I'll be back next year to check it out again. I look forward to positive improvement

Five years ago, I left a disappointed review of Bob and Tony’s Pizza, heartbroken that a long-standing family tradition had seemingly come to an end. Fast forward to today, and I’m thrilled to say Bob and Tony’s is back—and better than ever. Under new ownership with a fresh look and a bold new direction, the place has been completely transformed. They’ve added an in-house distillery that pairs perfectly with their revamped menu. The pizza is hands down some of the best I’ve had in a restaurant—crispy, flavorful, and made with clear attention to quality. The wings were equally impressive. At the bar, I was able to sample a variety of their house-made flavored whiskeys and moonshines before settling on a custom cocktail that complemented the meal perfectly. It’s hard to overstate how much of a turnaround this place has made. Thank you to the new team for breathing life back into a local legend and making Bob and Tony’s one of the top spots in Estes Park again. We can’t wait to return!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly! My visit to Bob and Tony’s Pizza was a lesson for me. I rarely visit an establishment without checking reviews. If you are in Estes Park, very hungry and just want to eat anything - but pizza sounds familiar... this is a descent choice! If you want quality in pizza, Not the place! The Good: Great location in downtown. Staff is excellent! In regards to pizza, sauce was great! Garlic bread was descent. Service was quick. Facilities were good. The Bad: By taste - I find it hard to believe that the pizza dough is home made by hand. It did NOT taste like home made quality. The crust had the frozen after taste which I caught immediately! My instinct kicked in... I turned the slice upside down... the DNA and look and feel looked like pre-made molded crust. See pictures. The Ugly: I found my discovery very disappointing. Since the sauce was great, next time I will try the spaghetti’s.
