We stopped here on pure instinct after a long day/hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. After being hailed on and falling through the snow, we were immediately drawn towards piping hot pizza. We ordered a large cheese pizza and were unfortunately utterly disappointed. How does this place have so many positive reviews?
Maybe it was a bad day, but scouring the comments here confirms our suspicion that the crust on their pizza is absolutely disgusting. It's really hard to describe, but it essentially has the consistency of Styrofoam/cardboard/rubber and tasted like old and dried out, freezer burned dough. Despite being hungry it was really hard to get down. Pro tip, covering the pizza in BBQ sauce helped a little bit. As for the sauce, it was a little different than what we're used to, it had almost a sweetness to it. We didn't quite care for it, but I could see other people with different tastes enjoying it.
I should note this review is directed at their pizza, as we didn't try their pasta or sandwiches, which may be pretty good. The location is a great spot and easily accessible, and I loved the decor and style of the restaurant. Also, the staff was perfectly fine if not unnoticeable, and did not contribute to this review. Ultimately though, given that "Pizza" is the theme of their name, we were really disappointed with what we received, particularly considering how expensive their pizza is, which really torpedoed our experience. Being honest, I think next time I'd rather just give them money to not...
Read moreWe noticed the smell from walking by and decided to get lunch here. I ordered a gluten free pizza with double pepperoni, spinach, and Canadian bacon. My husband got a 10 inch pizza with double pepperoni, double cheese, and garlic. We sat and waited for our pizzas at a pretty dirty table, I wiped it down before we sat. The wait didn't take too long, but after eating 2 slices of my pizza I noticed I had no pepperoni. When I mentioned it to a staff member he informed me they were training people and might have messed up and offered me a new one but I was fine , I just wanted to let them know so it didn't happen to anyone else. The gluten free crust tasted like an Udis crust, which was expected, and the spinach and Canadian bacon were just your usual toppings. The sauce however was very good and flavorful. We could taste lots of herbs and spices which we love. The cheese was also very good and when you pulled up a slice of pizza it did that tasty stretchy thing, you know what I'm talking about. My husband said the regular crust was ok, but he prefers a more "doughy" taste? I'm not sure what that means. But he said they definitely feel like they're frozen crusts. Overall though the pizza was good, not terrible, not the best ever, but definitely good. And the prices were reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful....

Walked in the back entrance where the “Opened” sign was on the door, where there was a menu sign standing inside the entrance - waited for someone to seat us for several minutes. Nobody ever acknowledged us, so someone from our group walked to the front entrance to ask if we’d be helped, only to be told we’d have to walk around to the front, to get into the line there to be helped. After explaining the situation and as to why we were in the back, we were told to have a seat at a table and someone would come help us at our table, rather than having to wait in the cafeteria- like line. We did as told- waited at the tables for several minutes ... nobody came to help. We asked again if we’d be helped only THEN to be told again, that we would have to get up and go to the front of the restaurant and actually get into the line.
Why have the back entrance opened? And if you’re going to have it opened, why not have a sign stating that you’ll need to go the front? This would be helpful for the handicapped. A “heads up”.
It wasn’t appreciated that one employee stated one thing and a second employee stated another. Maybe get facts in order?
Our party walked out and went to a different restaurant and spent our money there and was treated...
