I love this asian market and love that they’re always so friendly. It’s one of those stores that I would rather support than a big corporation and they make it easier on me with their welcoming atmosphere. I normally go here for their steam buns but end up finding fun snacks.

Kings Asian Market always has something interesting to try and plenty of things that I have no clue what they are 😆. Stop in and see what they have and you won't be disappointed 😉

Very good selection of Asian food products. Too bad there isn't an English explanation on every isle to help you find what you're looking for.

I only go to King's if Sunrise is closed. The differences between the two stores are service and freshness.

At Sunrise, I get friendly service and their produce is more fresh, especially their herbs. When I can't find something, they walk with me to show where it is. The store is clean and organized. The older male store owner is friendly and helpful. The gentleman of Hispanic decent with the moustache who usually is stocking the shelves smiles everytime he helps me locate stuff. I love that guy! The cashiers are friendly too!

King's is the opposite. The service is rude and abrupt, especially from the female owner. When I asked for help llto find an item, the usual aggressive response is "over there!" The same area where I just came from and couldn't find what I was looking for. Today, when she rang me up at the cash register, I asked her if I could slide my card instead of her doing it. I wanted to reduce the risk of COVID-19. She seemed upset having to move the credit card machine about 6 inches. I was about to slide my card and she angrily shouts, "Insert chip NOT slide." She then touches my credit card after I inserted it. The wilting herbs often have decomposing parts. The store is unsanitary with dirty storage racks and containers laying in various corners.

Go to Sunrise and get...

Previously I think the older owner was quite grumpy (my parents avoided going there before because of him) and maybe he has retired and passed the management to his kids. The younger staff there now are very helpful and kind. I bought a lot of stuff, including a big double decker steamer for Chinese style steamed food, and a nonstick wok. I had a normal wok before but curing it was a pain. The nonstick kind is good as long as you use sillicone tools. Besides a wide range of cooking tools, they also sell a lot of fresh food like pork belly (I've only read about it in webnovels, but it sounds super delicious) and many hard to find Asian vegetables such as taro root. Basically every kind of Asian spice, sauce, paste etc is available there. That market is my choice for buying coconut milk, coconut cream, and coconut cream powder because their selection is good and prices much more affordable than a regular grocery store. If I lived closer to South Eugene, I would go to Sunrise Asian Market because it's bigger, but I'm 30 minutes drive away from there so I don't often...

King's Asian Market sells a lot of Asian foods that can't be found in the regular markets in Oregon. We visited Oregon in the summer of 2019 and went into the market out of curiosity. We found quite a few "Hawaii" type foods there such as Hawaiian Sun canned juice, furikake, Pokki cookie sticks with chocolate or strawberry dip, a limited amount of fresh produce, teas, packaged seasonings and Asian food mixes, etc. What surprised me was the regular price for their furikake (which is a sprinkle for rice or fish, meats, made out of roasted and seasoned seaweed and sesame seeds, and other ingredients depending on the flavor you choose) costs less than some of the sale prices here in Hawaii. The every day price is much cheaper than the regular prices on our local market shelves here so that says a lot.

The owner of the store is a very nice man who greeted us warmly. The store is old but clean and the...
