The dark skinned girl, working the booth on 4-15-24 between 1-2pm, is a racist. CTA operators will let the poor get a free ride when asked. Being unemployed, I've benefited from this myself on occasion. When I asked, she said no, that it's her discretion. There was another guy there that went in anyway, and she didn't even say anything to him. I took her picture to email with a complaint to CTA. Then she said she was calling the police for taking her picture. I checked. It's legal since she was in a public place. So she lied too, falsely accusing me of committing a crime, which is probably why she didn't actually call the police. I'm waiting to hear back from CTA before I go any further....

When I visited Chicago my stay was in Evanston, so I took the L into Downtown using this station. And for that, it's pretty good.
Fares are $2.50, cheaper than NYC, and for that the station is pretty clean. I found it quite inconvenient that I had to transfer at Howard to get into Downtown, but you got to do what you got to do.
