I wish that I couldāve given it a no star rating because the service sucks here! Yesterday, I ordered online at 7:15 pm for a pick up order. My daughter went to pick up the order at 7:30. She was told by the store manager Dee (who was casually chilling outside of the restaurant on the local neighborhood resting bench with a nosy neighborhood neighbor) that the restaurant was closed and to come back at 8:00 pm. My daughter explained to her that we ordered at 7:15 and we wanted our food. Dee was responding nastily and nonchalantly to my daughter and the local nosy neighborhood neighbor chimed in and gave her unwanted and unnecessary 2 cents about the matter. My daughter called me and I could hear what was going on. My daughter advised the nosy neighborhood neighbor to be cool because she was trying to respect the elderly woman and that she had nothing to do with the matter. The nosy neighborhood neighbor was talking as if she was on Popeyes chicken payroll.
I tried to contact Popeyes chicken on the chat line through the app for customer service and it was not of any help because when it gave me the option to chat about the store being closed, it redirected me to other information that had nothing to do with my complaint. Then I called the customer service number provided on google and it only gave the option for employees and advised me to chat online with the stupid chat line that I had initially contacted. I went up to the store and Dee and the nosy neighborhood neighbor was still sitting on the bench chilling but the other manager had opened the store.
The other pleasant manager prepared my food and listened to my complaint. Whenever Dee is there, itās always bad customer service and she thinks itās a joke. Customer service is very important. The game sheās playing is a very dangerous game with people money, time and food. Many people donāt play about any of those things. She aināt never got enough food prepared and/or sheās allegedly sold out of stuff because sheās too lazy to cook the food. I hope that her, corporate Popeyes staff and/or the owner and her kicking it buddy the nosy neighborhood neighbor read this review. This establishment gets a NEGATIVE ZERO...

This is how change happens for the better with, Cause and Effect & A "Pinch of Common Sense" as well.....
"No Sales=No Business", That Simple.
"MAKE A CHANGE/STATEMENT, WITH YOUR DOLLARS, AGAIN PEOPLE" Can't Say That Enough.
Get your lunch or dinner plans from other options and business. Who'll Value Your Hard-Earned Dollars with Respect. I know, it's just fast food, yes. Sometimes we all need our fix and we're just short on time.
Love the Chicken Sandwich Too!! Yet, there are other alternatives BK's BACON & Swiss is the Jam! And the KFC Standards(Classic and/or Spicy) or either on par, if not better in my personal opinion!!
I Don't want to play Devil's Advocate & Not Show a Little Empathy for the Employees as Well?..
We're All People (Consumer/Employees) at the end of the day. Still, that being said at the Core of this establishment. The Conditions are obviously Not Healthy, speaking more on a employment view of working environment.... Hate to see and don't wish it for anyone to just be fired(yet sometimes that's what it takes)for spite. Yet, from a location/neighborhood viewpoint?. When's the last time Corporate Improved/ or done any Renovations, Re-train (Staff Top to Bottom), Food Safety Standards are up to Code, & Possibly Just Better Pay/Wages$$?????
Yes, I had some Bad Experiences and Finally Stop going in the last few months.... If there is A "Root" in a possible solution?. I think it has to come to Popeyes Corporate Door Step and Really Fix the Chain-Locations Overall. For the the last point and record, the other location on Devon & Clark is just as bad in producing Lazy-Services.
Hope?!?..Someday, maybe???..... For Now,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not one to normally leave bad reviews, but this place has earned one! It can be hit or miss, but lately, it's been almost all miss, like it was this weekend. My stepfather got sick this out both ends this weekend. He's almost certain that eating here on Friday night made him sick! He was the only one to eat there since I went downtown and my mom was out of town that night. I have eaten here before myself and I'm actually amazed that I didn't get sick myself! It's dirty on the inside, the street outside is dirty, and the place has an overall sketchy vibe. The neighborhood, Rogers Park is a great neighborhood, but has some bad pockets, and the area along Howard Street is definitely one of those bad parts. The drive thru even has bulletproof glass! The bathrooms are always locked as well. Also, the customer service is just awful. I've waited up to 30 minutes for "fast" food, and the drive thru sometimes makes customers gp inside due to the wait. But, you're in luck, because there's a much better Popeyes off of Broadway and Devon, in Edgewater. Never any complaints about food quality or customer service, and a much safer area (although it still features bulletproof glass at the drive thru). May I also suggest Buffalo Joe's, which is one block east on Howard (rigjt under the Metra tracks) and won't eat up your entire lunch break waiting for sickening food. Again, I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place 100% deserves a bad review! Believe me, there's many better chicken options nearby. You'll thank me and yourself for driving or walking the extra 10 minutes to ensure you don't get sick because you'll probably still get done faster that way and have more...
