I personally feel the need to give my honest opinion on Modern Home Furniture. Thank you for teaching me the biggest lesson I've ever learned in life... DO NOT TRUST FURNITURE SALES PEOPLE. EVEN IF YOU THINK THEY HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST... THEY DO NOT....
Modern Home Furniture you tricked me into a deal I can't get myself out of. I have been through HELL trying to pay off my furniture before Acima charges me a 50 percent interest fee....
Now the messed up part is.... I came in at a time of crisis in my life. I told the pretty and sweet, nice sales lady how I had a emergency situation. I moved into a apartment and had no money at the moment and I needed to Finance furniture. Long story short I ended up with about $4,000 of furniture leaving the store being told nothing about payment plans. When I asked i was told "Call Acima when your furniture gets delivered and tell them you want 90 day free financing. They will go over payment plans then."
My issue with this place is that they claim to care so much about people and the community.... but when I felt scammed and tricked by them and wanted to return everything... that wasn't a option. They kept telling me they are a small business and effected by covid.... so if I wanted to return all the items In order to return my items they wanted me to pay around $800.....
I've cried almost everyday since buying from this store. I know I got tricked into this contact because Melissa (they lady who was so nice and sold me my furniture and who acted like she cared for me and my situation) NEVER SPOKE TO ME AGAIN.... I WENT IN THE STORE TWICE IN TEARS BALLING MY EYES OUT IN FRONT OF HER AND SHE HAD ZERO WORDS TO SAY TO ME AND DIRTY LOOKS TO GIVE. that to me says she knows she did me dirty.....
Modern Home Furniture you truly know what you guys are doing to people. You hide behind lies. Claiming yall are all about the lord and helping people in your community and your fake 5 star reviews that you bribe people to do!
Quit acting like financing though yall is so easy. ITS NOT. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE 90 DAYS TO PAY OFF THE FURNITURE YOU FINANCED BECAUSE YOU DIDNT HAVE THE MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE TO BUY IT RIGHT AWAY! IF YOU DONT PAY OFF YOUR BALANCE IN 90 DAYS YOUR INTEREST RATE DOUBLES THOUGH ACIMA!
HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY OFF $4000 IN 90 DAYS MOVING INTO A NEW EXPENSIVE APARTMENT ALL ALONE. HARDLY WORKING BECAUSE OF THIS PANDEMIC. AND IF I DONT FIGURE IT OUT THEN I OWE ACIMA A TOTAL OF $8000 BECAUSE OF LACK OF INFORMATION BY YOUR SALESTEAM!!! SICK!!!

I hope yall would treat people the way you would want YOUR OWN CHILDREN to be treated. Yall got kids. What if this was them? How would it make you feel as parents to see your daughter or child suffer because they got tricked by a employee at a small local furniture store????
Hopefully getting this off my chest will help with the tears I cry because of the stress yall guided me into!

On Sunday 11/22/2020 we were told delivery of our couches would be from 12-7pm so we waited all day at home changing plans around so we could be here and present and after 7pm and no call and no answer at the warehouse, we figured they wouldn't be arriving. At 10:45PM we received a call they were still planning to deliver- around 11pm couches arrived and the guys did not help assemble after tipping them EACH $100 to do so and them gladly saying they would. THEY SIMPLY JUST GOT IN THEIR TRUCK AND LEFT. It was also 11pm at night an absolutely unacceptable time to deliver furniture.
When our couches were delivered we were missing a huge part of our couch along with our ottoman and were extremely frustrated. In speaking with Olivia they advised us our second piece would not be arriving until February which would be 4+ months of waiting for our couch to be complete. We also had no Arrival date on our ottoman. Found out they just simply forgot to deliver it and had to come a separate time to do this. After checking in a few weeks later to check on delivery Olivia had called me to let me know she was moving the order up to the first week in January and was able to move some things around. Come the first week of January we had heard nothing- so I called back- delivery was then set for January 16th and Ethan had no documentation from Olivia about her call to me to move the order. Come the week of the 16th- no delivery so we contacted the store again. Olivia answered and said our order is now back to February.
I understand Covid plays a roll but the lack of communication has been frustrating. I also purchased an $800 entry way table shortly after purchasing our couches and was told 20% courtesy would be put towards a future purchases after buying the $2500 couches. they did not honor this for that purchase. Even after asking multiple people. I have ranted and raved about this location. I had left these people a lovely review previously to support them and support local and am beyonds words frustrated- I am now feeling like this maybe isn't a place I'd order big purchases from again. I have sent 3 emails with no response- I had specifically asked for a manager to reach out twice now and have heard nothing. Not one thing.
It was the holidays which is why I purchased this ahead of time being promised 8-12 weeks and I was hosting both thanksgiving and Christmas and was told my couches and ottoman would be here. They were not. I was hopeful these guys would do what's right and find a way to get us these 2 pieces sooner rather then later. After my experience I would not recommend anyone purchases furniture from here due to the fact they over promise and under deliver. It is very rare I leave negative comments but for what you spend at this location there is absolutely no excuse for the poor customer service and I would advise anyone to consider this before purchasing furniture here.
PREVIOUS POST NOT TO RECOMMEND FURTHER TO PEOPLE. Today I saw Modern Furniture as I was passing by! I instantly hit my brakes and turned in- most furniture stores here in Everett are run down with similar selections so I wasn't expecting much.
When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised- the fall decor was SO cute. Their living room selection has a huge variety, the entire upstairs are beds, bed frames, rugs, kitchen tables, and everything in that store is great quality!
I know furniture stores can be intimidating because most are costly but this place was well priced out and extremely reasonable. The ladies from the second I walked in until I left were so so helpful. We purchased a sectional couch and ottoman from their online store but were able to do it on a huge screen at their store. I am beyond pleased with this place and am planning to head back tomorrow for a piece I can't stop...

FYI buyers.many of the.positive reviews here are people affiliated with the store. They did this on yelp too , I reported the violation , yelp investigated and took those reviews down .
Never use this furniture store! I have recomended so many friends to them and am totally regretting that I did that.
1.) I ordered my couch the day after thanksgiving. They were very disorganized. At one point the person helping me place my order(couch and bedroom set) got up and walked away without telling me why. I was forgiving as it was a busy day. I was very patient compared to other customers. I needed my couch by the 1st. Since I had.multiple people helping me I verified I would have it. Both assured me I would, and it would likely be sooner so they would call me in case we wanted it sooner. I was never told 4 to 8 weeks. In fact the lady before me got the same couch and I heard her be told 3 weeks. Right before christmas I get a call. They say my bedroom set is in, but the couch won't be in until the 15th. I can have the bedroom set delivered now and then pay 25 for the couch when it's in . I ordered these black Friday and the deal was free delivery and because of their own fault I'm going to be charged ? Great customer service. I let them know well this won't work. I work in medicine and had to jump through hoops to get the week of new years off to move, and put things together which I can't do without the couch. I asked my options. She said I could come look at what they have and see if anything can be there by when I need it , but if I chose to go somewhere else I would be charged a 20 percent restocking fee. I get off work at 6pm and the store closes at 7pm. This was the last day they were open befoee closing for an extended Christmas break. I rush down there and find nothing. I speak to a different lady then who I talked to on the phone and she told me it's shipping by the 30th and I can pick it up by the 3rd or 4th ( because my no longer "free" delivery would make the date much later ). I was lucky enough to work out getting the week of the 8th of with my work instead.
2.) Last week my boyfriend went in and was told the 15th again. He , not as patient as me let them know this wasn't happening nor was a restocking fee . they call him back later and say he can pick it up the 3rd or 4th. He calls today and is told the 10th. It's too late for me to change the week I took off. I need my couch to do what I need to do. And again, this free delivery isn't free and causing my boyfriend to have to do couch Moving 2 times extra due to it not being here when said . I called them after my bf told me this Because I was the one who dealt with them before. I was very nice and was calling to verify the tall dresser would be woth the couch. They told me yes shipping the 30th and you can pick it up the 3rd or 4th , then they turn around today and tell my bf the 10th.
No one can get their story straight. Communication is horrible. PLUS, I found the bedroom set and couch I ordered for cheaper from Ashley itself as well as other stores that guarnteed 5 day turn around.
This store had my loyalty and they have completely lost it. I will never return or...
