buffets are already a breeding ground for bacteria. but this place is on a completely different level.
i’ve gone to the place since i was a small child. and back then, it was okay, it was nice and pretty, food was as decent as buffet food can be. now it’s gone into disrepair.
the food is honestly horrible. close to inedible. buffet food is never great since it’s about quantity and not quality but this place is horrific. my brother got sushi (which i’ve seen many people leave reviews raving about the sushi) and it was warm, the cucumber brown and the salmon was literally crumbly. how they managed that i do not know. things are at the wrong temperatures, which is unbelievably dangerous. things aren’t cooked properly, etc.
a long while ago my father had a bad encounter with injection needles laying openly in the mens bathroom. and this level of filth is something that has stayed consistent. the walls are covered in dried food and sauce. tables are sticky and barely cleaned. and a coffee cup filled with cold, half drinken coffee sat right next to where my family was eating. it wasn’t even a coffee cup belonging to the establishment. cups, silverware, and plates are not dried off or cleaned properly. there’s always dried food stuck on to them despite the fact they are sopping wet.
the ice cream scoops are disgusting, sitting in stagnant, murky water. and people do not use caution when scooping their own ice cream and their dirty hands end up touching that and the other food.
there are dirty, food covered signs everywhere telling you about the $10 fee per person if you do not finish your food. there is no further elaboration and it doesn’t tell you how much food can be left uneaten, which leads me to worry about the establishment taking advantage of this rule and their customers. is a single piece of chicken considered a waste? what about a teaspoon of rice? where is the limit? and even then, their food is so abhorrent that leaving something uneaten because it is inedible, too greasy, not in the right temperature or anything of the sorts is totally reasonable.
and on top of it all, the prices are outrageous. it used to be reasonable but it is not any more. my family of 7 paid almost $200 and that was including my grandparents senior discount. you are much better off eating at any of the other establishments in the area. heck even mcdonald’s is better quality and at a better price...
Read moreI went to this place around 3:00 PM on 05/22 and if I could review it as a 0 I would. I went with my family of 4 and from past experience going to buffets our 3 year olds barley eat anything at all per usual anywhere we go, so we stopped by to get them food before going here. We paid a little over $26 after tax per adult, and told the women at the front that our children would not be eating. Several times she repeated back to us, “are you sure they’re not eating,” “I heard your daughter say she wanted ice cream,” “are they going to eat,” to which I responded no multiple times and told her that we had already got them food before coming. Today is my husbands birthday so we planned on going to his favorite dessert place afterwards but I did not think I had the obligation to explain my day plans. Anyway, she finally stops and we pay, I’m just glad that it’s over. As we’re walking to a table, the women leaves the front desk, following us all the way to where we’re sitting, and openly tells all of the waiters around the area we’re seated at to make sure that our kids didn’t eat anything because we “didn’t want to pay”. At this point, everyone around us turns around all staring at us. It’s just humiliating at this point and the waiters just seem to brush it off. She goes back to the front desk, and mind you, we’re sitting in the back close by the event center section they have. At the front desk, she calls another young lady with her and the both stand there turned around staring at us the entire time we were there. Since everyone is so busy staring at us, they didn’t even notice that there was a kid maybe 8-9 years old that accidentally served himself too much food so with his hand he grabbed food off of his plate and put it back before taking it to be cooked at the grill center. The entire thing was extremely uncomfortable and humiliating. Before we left, we let her know that what she did made us feel very uncomfortable. My husbands birthday dinner was terrible, I truly wish we had...
Read moreJust ate here today soon after they reopened for safety purposes. I pretty much grew up here. This is a family friendly restaurant always full of diverse families, kids, and delicious food. They are safe to eat here with a good mask policy and plexiglass or protective sheeting.
That has certainly not changed!! They are beginning to bring back those mouthwatering dishes and are safely serving food to everyone. Prices are still very affordable and they do takeout as well!
Right now, the menu is standard chinese american with orange chicken, general tsaos, mushroom chicken, hot and sour soup, and more (also american fare like french fries and chicken wings). Dessert varieties also available. THEIR CAPPUCINO MACHINE AND FOUNTAIN DRINKS ARE STILL AWESOME!! No steamed crab/clams back yet, but I think it's a matter of time before they get enough customers so they can expand their food options and serving safely.
They take a little longer to get you food since they serve it to you, and it's still really popular as there was a line when I went there at 2pm. They are GREAT for takeout for when you just wanna pick up lunch or dinner.
As for safety, it's really well done how they managed a level of outdoor seating with plastic for meal rushes and they still have plenty of space inside the restaurant. Their high ceilings and hot food help keep air circulating up and their doors stay open to make sure there is circulation without losing too much heat. I do recommend keeping a bottle of sanitizer to use before eating just as a general rule, and to keep your mask back on if you're not eating to be respectful of others. But honestly, I also just like smelling the food I just ate, it's that good to me, hahaha.
Sanitizer is everywhere and the wait staff are great at taking dishes and offering to bring food/drinks to you table. I'm so happy to be back at my childhood restaurant!! Come by or buy a certificate! Their food is delicious and they just wanna share it...
