We tested mattress at Boscov's and ended up buying one, but I believe the service could have been a little better. I like to know ALL of my options and not just what the salesman thinks my options should be. The beds are clearly marked with the price but not so much when it comes to the durability and inclusions, such as types of spring systems or pillow top options. Our last bed purchases were made at Mattress Warehouse and before we were shown any beds, we were advised to try the special bed/machine that tests where our pressure points are so that we knew what to look for, even though we already knew what firmness we wanted. Though, Boscov's does have the equipment to do the test (it's the huge display and mattress, with the TV screen, located right in the middle of all of the mattresses for sale) this wasn't ever suggested by the salesman. In fact, he kept us away from the entire area around the test machine. I'm like Goldilocks in the 3 Bears story when it comes to testing out beds! I need to try it out before buying and I want to find "the right one"! The salesman kept trying to push for a more expensive mattress with options that we didn't want but luckily we had done a little research about "cooling" mattresses prior to shopping. I'm not sure if they get paid additional commission or not and because of this I was hesitant to ask about the machine that does the test. Eventually, I did inquire about it and had the test done but other than seeing the image on the TV screen showing the pressure points and the salesman telling us that we were correct in wanted a firm mattress, the results weren't really used that I know of. I quickly took a picture of the suggested types (I apologize for the blurry parts) and would have liked to try out all of the ones under the firm section but because the information on each mattress is on a piece of cardboard at the bottom left corner of each one, it's difficult to know what is what unless your standing in front of each one. There's no way to know the layout of them or at least we weren't explained it and there's no signage stating such. When I went to ask about the other ones on the list the salesman was letting the new customers know he'd be with them shortly. There were several customers waiting to be seen (@ 2 pm on a Tuesday) but only 1 person to tend to them. Because of that we rushed on making a decision, out of the 5 we tried out, which isn't the ideal situation when choosing what to spend a few thousand dollars on! At least there's always a good sale going on, lol. The store was clean and the employees were pleasant. Boscov's is also my go-to for clothes and shoes! You can't beat $1.00 for designer pants and shirts ANYWHERE! Their clearance sales are actually set at clearance prices and beat Walmart and Target any day of the week, in cost and quality. Lastly, they have a yearly shoe sale that is out of this world. Two years ago, I walked away with 10 pairs of beautiful shoes for under $50!!!! That's less than my sketchers flip flops I just bought! I'm just saying, it's worth finding out the date of that yearly shoe sale and going, if you enjoy shoes as...
Read moreAll I can say is OMG ❣️ If you haven't been to Boscov's at all or lately, you've GOT TO GO!!! This was my #1 go to for dressy clothing when I worked. Even though I don't work, I'm still at Boscov's a lot. Can't beat all the sales, all the time. The quality of all the items sold is great. I actually had the privilege of meeting Mr. Boscov on 2 occasions in the Exeter Twp. store. That wonderful human being knew how to have a sale, my word!! Now, whomever took over- I'm telling you, you better measure up!! Lol! Can't beat that tent sale every year too. Sshhh, but I've gotten a beautiful blouse that was 99.00 on sale rack for 7.00!!! Nothing wrong with it. It's my favorite store, period. UPDATE: No Boscovs is basically the same. Sell same items, same awesome sales. We actually just bought 3 new mattress there! The only new thing is they moved the lottery and wrapping center to upstairs next to big and tall men's section. Now, I know there is nothing downstairs BUT I've never gone over due to not being able to walk far. My Home Health Aid goes over there to get me a wheelchair. They do have wheelchairs now people can use. BUT, you'll need 3 people! One to push wheelchair and one to push cart to put your stuff in. I tried, believe me, I couldn't hold much on my lap in wheelchair!! Haha. UPDATE 10-12-25: I'm still in the wheelchair and still shopping at my favorite store - BOSCOV'S!!!! 😄👍. I just got back went with my mother to look for jeans since I lost some weight, yes, yrs, thank you, thank you !!! I found these jeans made by Democracy. When you hold them up the seem on the legs look funky like out of place ya know..the tag says "Ab" solution, high rise, straight leg featuring Slimming Panels constructed to " Mold & Hold " and Boost Your Assets!!!! Lol. So I figure what the hell I'll try them on. These are the BEST pair of jeans I have ever wore. Seriously. Tag says $98.00 but they were on sale for $ 73.50. I didn't care. If I had the money I would have gotten another pair. I also found a very nice pair of Allure. Super stretch, modern fit, instantly slims. And yes, they do. Also got a very thin black puffer coat from something Heat originally $ 165.00 for $ 65.00. So yeah we made out really good. Oh the other jeans were originally $ 63.50 got...
Read moreDeeply disappointed in my most recent visit, and at this point all of my visits to this store. This was my second or third time shopping at this store, specifically the Jewelry department and to have been blatantly ignored by the jewelry associates when I was interested in seeing a piece of jewelry was incredibly disappointing. The same associate has always worked the jewelry counter since my first visit. She is an older white woman with short grey hair cut into a bob with bangs. She also usually wears red nail polish. On three separate occasions I have stood at the jewelry counter and waited for service. She’s never once greeted me, or let me know she’d be with me. What she has done however is walk right past me, look at me and then look away, help someone else that walks up, or leave the jewelry counter entirely. The first time I visited this store I spent over $400 at the jewelry counter and the ONLY reason I was helped by her is because she had already passed by me a few times and I guess she could no longer make it look inconspicuous that she was ignoring me. However, during my most recent visit she walked swiftly by me, intentionally trying not to make eye contact and left the jewelry counter completely. And I hate to say prejudice has a part in this but I believe it truly it does. There was also second associate working the jewelry counter, a man, who from what I remember seeing on his name tag was named Robert. After waiting for over 10 mins to be assisted, watching him fuss with something behind the counter… he reluctantly asked if I’d like to see something. No greeting, no eye contact. He made me feel as though I was a nuisance he needed to quickly rid himself of. The entire experience was a shame. Before I was even born my mom worked for Boscovs for over 10 years and knows Mr. Boscov personally. I’ve truly grown up shopping at Bosocov (Plymouth Meeting) my entire life. And to have had repeat experiences of being blatantly ignored for service or given the bare minimum most likely because I am black is just sad and dishonorable for this department store chain. I’ll make it a point to stay away from here being as though I am...
