Within hours of eating a five guys burger in Exeter Township, my seven year old was in pain from what appeared to be food poisoning. In addition, he later tested positive for ecoli poisoning. He was hospitalized at Reading Hospital. Five Guys management referred the matter to their insurance company...Hartford. They kept putting us off for months from paying the claim. Reading Hospital medical bills added to more than $10,000. Months later they refused to pay the claim. Their answer was that he may had eaten something else. We didn't eat out anywhere else. Now, my son can no longer stomach milk as what is likely a permanent consequence from this very expensive trip to Five Guys in Exeter Township. If you ever get sick from eating the food at Five Guys, expect a flurry of calls from management expressing concern. They will ask for proof that you ate there. I paid with a credit card. Always pay with a credit card. In our case, they deferred to their insurance company who served as the bad guy to deny our claim. Will this happen to you? It happened to us. I will post the medical bills and the ecoli test results online soon. We were willing to pay the higher prices for a higher quality product. When I see a boy so sick he can't get off the couch, the hospital bills, the stress, and worry; it isn't worth it to me. No way. After this, we will never eat at Five Guys again. Those $10,000+ medical bills are tough. Want to eat at Five Guys? We did. Do you think they will have your back if you get sick? Hartford Insurance denied our claim. Feel safe eating there? We don't feel safe and we won't go back. Now, I must sue them to recover expenses. If this happened to you, or your son, do you feel like taking time off of work to deal with them? My son tested positive for ecoli poisoning. Do you know where that comes from? Why don't you go to Five Guys in Exeter Township and buy a burger with pickles, just to see what happens to you? What do you have to lose? What could possibly go wrong? I dare you to eat at Five Guys in Exeter Township...as of April 2019, no reimbursement for...
Read moreWhen one wants to mildly debase themselves, they go to five guys and get themselves a delicious burger and a wildly unhealthy amount of fries. Usually, their customer service is pretty good at this location, and today was no different. (In that regard anyway). I'm not sure if they needed more room in the fryer or something, but I ended up with the absolute limit of what a paper bag can carry in French Fries! As always, the food was very good, but just the simple addition of an unholy amount of fries made the day just a little bit better. When they called my order, the nice server told me about the slight addition of fries in there. I laughed and said "That's what I expected.." And their hilarious response of "Well this might be more than you're expecting.." When I got to my table, I found out exactly what they were talking about! This simple thing made my day a little better after a not so great time, so I appreciate the fries. I couldn't even finish all of them! So there are now a bulging cupfull of great fries waiting in the...
Read moreMy kid loves Five Guys so we made a special trip since we live far from the closest five guys, this location. In the past this location has been great, but this visit was a hot mess. Firstly, the register clerk was so disinterested in taking our order I felt like leaving before the order was finalized. My group had five burgers, each one was misprepared vs what the slip said. We opted to eat as-is instead of wait for a recook. The ketchup was out and they said they'd "get around" to filling it up. They didn't before we were done and left. The freestyle soda machines, you know the ones that are supposed to pour perfect mixes? Both machines were dispensing nearly seltzer water. It was almost a comically tragic visit. The fries were OK, but they'd have been better with ketchup that didn't take a hundred packets to enjoy. Overall I'm probably not returning to this location again and instead opting to drive further to...
