THIS IS LONG I brought my cat in 7/12/24 because she wasn’t eating or pooping. I told them she’s constipated. $620 and 2 hours later the vet Dr Gross rattled off a bunch of terminal things she probably had. Told me to take her home and see if she can eat and poop. Gave me appetite stimulant and a laxative. On 7/17 I brought her back. Still not eating or pooping. Asked. If they would give her an anemia. Yes. Brought her in. Tech Heather took my cat. Just a few minutes later she brings my cat back. I, never saw or talked the vet, but him or her would not give my cat an anemia. Instead, without discussing it with me, they gave her some fluids and a steroid shot. Why???
7/19/24 ** I took my cat to 4paws in Lakewood. I’ve had a relationship with them for 25 years. Upon giving my cat a full exam she showed me 2 of her teeth were very loose. Which was probably one reason she was not eating. She couldn’t eat the laxative and that was why. While my cat was getting an anemia she showed me the X-rays and bloodwork done at Park County.vet. Park County never showed or discussed tests with me. There was someone’s hand on one of the X-rays making it useless. Her calcium was a little high Not extremely high as Park County had said. My cat pooped and ate at the vets, after they gave her 2 anemias. I brought her home. Planning to bring her back Monday for her teeth. She was eating and pooping all weekend. Monday I dropped her off. Because she had poop 4paws could now see little tumors on the x rays they redid She was also running a fever. I let her go later that day 7/22/24
On 7/19 I called Park County Vet asking to speak to the vet that treated my cat. I told receptionist if I didn’t get a call back, I would be leaving a negative review. Well, I never got a call from Dr Gross, however , Dr Jermey harassed 4paws until the vet finally spoke to him after my cat had passed. He told 4paws I was a PAIN. As I said I’ve know them all for 25 years. Does he refer to all of his customers like that ? I hadn’t been to Park County since August of 2023 with my dog, who he said had a blown out knee and need knee surgery. He’s never had it and he’s fine.
** I wanted to discuss the things that were missed and not done for my cat at Park County. What they did made her worse. Yes, she died, but if she’d had different care from the beginning, she would have definitely been more comfortable and might have lived a little longer. What 4paws did for her enabled her to eat and poop and interact with myself and the dogs all weekend . I will be forever grateful to 4Paws for giving me that time with my cat. She was loving and purring. Something she hadn’t done in weeks.
After Dr Jermey found out my cat passed , he sent me an email saying basically we told you she was going to die, and you can never come back here because you threaten to post a negative review. Dr Jeremy did not exam my cat, and he has never met her. He said he got records from 4 Paws which is a lie. He got a picture. I gave 4paws permission to open her up before cremation. There were tiny tumors on her liver. Dr Jeremy said she had cancer. That’s another lie because no pathology was done. .
After spending over $700 at Park County Vet on my cat, you would think Dr Gross would give me the courtesy to call and discuss my cat with her.
If I had gotten that phone call from Dr Gross, I would not be writing this review. I was devastated that my cat had become so ill so quickly. There is no compassion at Park County.
I never told anyone to call 4paws. Dr Jeremy harassed the girls that answer the phone until he finally talked to the vet. Why did you do that Dr Jeremy? That was so unprofessional and was blatant harassment. As I said above, the vet called me and told me everything you said. She never planned on speaking to you. There was no reason for her to talk to you. . I was the one who wanted a call. You upset her staff so much she had no choice.
The phone call should have been to me from Dr Gross You had no...
Read moreThe Park County Animal Hospital has been great to me and my cats. Always friendly, knowledgeable, and caring.
Whenever I check a place out, I always read the bad reviews first. So, if you don't want to go through that, here's a brief run down. Most of the negative reviews for PCAH have been remedied. I don't know who that receptionist was, but she sounds horrible. PCAH has since let her go. There were a few negative reviews that weren't about the rude person who answered the phone. Most of them can be attributed to the high emotions experienced when a four legged companion is unwell. One guy was upset that the Dr didn't thoroughly treat his pupper after hours. They did offer a diagnosis and refer him to other vets. If it's the current staff, I'm fairly certain they didn't suspect a critical emergency need. The dog recovered. (Sounds like he maybe got into some marijuana)
A couple one-star reviews seem like the star rating was a mistake made by the reviewer. The written reviews don't match a one-star rating.
There's a handful of negative reviews that are pretty vague. Just one-star and no written explanation. I tend to ignore these.
The rest are pretty much about Covid, and not being able to go inside. I think restrictions are being lifted gradually. We went inside for our last visit.
Anywho, great place! I mostly go in to update my kitties' vaccinations. But they both had non-emergency medical needs this year.
Been following Dr's orders, and both my little dudes are on the mend, gaining weight, and appear to be in great health, for their age. (16 year old brothers.) I don't know how much time they've got left. But I know SPAH will do everything they can to make them good, comfortable, years.
That sounds worse than it is. I'm just being realistic. My dudes aren't these old bags of bones suffering through their end times. If I didn't know their age, I'd guess they were...
Read moreAs a traveler, I discovered that Park County Animal Hospital is the best and so is the staff! I was driving cross country when my Golden Retriever named Bucky had been fighting a bad case of diarrhea for several days. Nobody wanted that, especially Bucky. He needed medical attention. I was lucky to be near Fairplay, CO at the time and to find the vet services Bucky needed. Bucky needed prompt attention, so did I because I was very worried. I located PCAH and walked in, me a stranger, no appointment, concerned I couldn't get attention. Well, I walked into the right place and Bucky was taken care of immediately with love, kindness, and very professional care. Dr. Jamie was able to see Bucky within minutes, diagnose the problem and provide relief with a regimen of medicine. In the process, I was taken care of by the nicest professional staff: Kristin and Jessica provided great service, care, and comfort. I needed it as much as Bucky! The next day Heather called me from PCAH to follow up and make sure Bucky was doing better. How sweet is that! He and I had the best experience anyone could have, especially for being walk-in strangers in need of help. Special thanks to...
