We stopped in at about 1:45, a full 15 minutes before closing time (which we hadn’t noticed). They have a nice bathroom i’d used before. Plan was to get some ice coffees and use the bathroom on the way home from hiking. The young lady taking our coffee orders did not know the answer to my question about their matcha and did not attempt to ask anyone. She told me the chai powder was matcha powder, so I ordered a latte instead. My friend also ordered a latte. It took 5-7 minutes for the lattes to be made. You can see in the clear cup photo that there is perhaps only a minuscule amount of espresso in my decaf latte. It tasted like straight milk in a cup that maybe had some espresso residue in it, or like they re-brewed an already used portion of beans. My friend’s latte looked very similar, and we asked how many shots were in the latte, pointing out how milky they looked. Three young ladies had now gathered behind the counter and were all indicating the lattes were fine and that they were now closing in 3 minutes so we’d need to go! My friend said she wanted them to add another shot, and they complied but charged her for the additional shot. We had been in the line for the bathroom since after paying for the coffees, now roughly ten minutes ago. There had been a line for the bathroom and the person in front of us was taking a while. The workers added my friends shot and then asked why we were still here because they were closed. I said we had been in the bathroom line and were going to go. She told me “this is our business and we are closed, so you need to leave” (because they were leaving, she indicated). I informed her there was someone in the bathroom and asked if she planned to leave him locked in, and she said no, but then told me that she wanted us to leave and “would prefer if it didn’t have to be a standoff.” I told her we’d leave as soon as we used the restroom. The other worker came from behind the counter and knocked on the door and told the man in there that they were closed and he needed to leave. We decided to go to the gas station instead to pee. I have stopped here several times on my way to Breck from my home in the Springs, but will not be stopping here again or...
Read moreThe workers are always very sweet and patient even when dealing with a heavy workload, and that's where my stars are coming from. However I have a few suggestions. All coffee shops I've ever been to, both independent and chain stores, do not give an upcharge on milk or milk alternatives in drip coffee. Paying an additional $.50 on top of already overpriced coffee just makes it sting even more. And the wait times are very long, which you're warned about when you enter, however I think if workers were taught some sort of cadence to helping people, wait times can be alleviated a bit, or at the very least customers in line can anticipate how long their wait-time will be. For example: taking a customers order, completing their drink, and THEN taking the next customer's order. When I'm there and there's only one person making beverages and taking orders, they seem to take a few people's orders, make one, take a few more, then start sending out drinks in a different order. Some organization would...
Read moreWe were in town visiting and needed WiFi so came in and asked if their WiFi worked before we made a purchase. The barista assured us that they had WiFi and provided us with the password which would not work. I then spoke with the manager about this and she refused to help saying it is a small town.
I understand the problems of a small town I have lived in one. However she should have told us that the WiFi was not reliable. and possibly did not work instead of assuring that it did work.
The manager did not offer to make any adjustment or apology. She simply acted like it wasn’t her problem and she didn’t care, other customers were having the same problem as us and she ignored them as well.
I understand it is a coffee shop but people on vacation use coffee shops for their internet and do not want to go to a business that does not follow up on their promises...
