Actually, the Fairview Heights store and staff deserve 5 stars. They took a bad situation and handled it professionally. The 1 star rating is for the district manager Bill Monia. I had an appt. to get a remote starter installed and the day before the appointment, I got a call from the FVH store because Bill had pulled their installer for one of the St Louis stores. I re-scheduled for the following weekend, only to have that one cancelled because Bill had again pulled the installer for a St Louis store. I found out during that conversation that Bill actually had 2 installers at one of the St Louis stores instead of sending one of them to the FVH store. After this second cancellation, I wrote an email to Audio Express. Bill called me and apologized and said he wanted to make things right. He said he'd schedule an appointment for 11/26/16 and make it up to me for the inconvenience. I agreed and waited for Bill to call me with a time. To me this meant that I would be getting a small discount and have a specific time for my install. I called Bill on 11/25/16 to find out what time my appointment was. He said "First thing tomorrow morning". On the morning of 11/26/16, I called the FVH store to let them know that I'd be in around 10am since Bill didn't give me a time. To my surprise, they didn't have an appointment for me but they said I could drop the car off and they would get it done by end of day. I called Bill to see why the FVH store didn't have an appointment for me and to find out what my cost would be. I was told by an employee at Bill's store that he was busy and I would have to call back in an hour. I called back in about 55 minutes and again I was told that Bill was busy. I explained the situation and the employee asked me to hold while he got Bill. After being on hold for about 5 minutes, the employee said that Bill would call me back. I confirmed that he had my phone number and hung up. By this time, it's no surprise that Bill never called me back. I never got compensated for my inconvenience like Bill promised and my car was in the shop for 8 hours because the staff at FVH had to fit me in between their scheduled customers. In my opinion, this is very poor business practice to cancel appointments on customers and worse to outright lie to them. Read moreThe front speakers on my car weren't working right, so I went to Best Buy and bought speakers. The first time I went to Best Buy, the store associate recommended the wrong size speakers for my car. I returned those and then bought a second set of speakers from them, which was also recommended by a different store associate. I then took my car to the Best Buy Auto technicians to have them install the speakers which they took apart my doors, took the speakers out and then told me that they needed to build spacers for the speakers which would cost me $50 per speaker. The technician told me he couldn't install the speakers that day and to come back the next morning to install them. The technician then put the doors back together, but he didn't put my driver side speaker back into the door. He was going to charge me $240 for mediocre speakers and to install them. To me this price seemed high so I decided to do some research and that is when I found Audio Express. I explained to them what had happened and they were very helpful and understanding with the situation. The customer service that I received there was unreal. They only charged me $170 for Alpine speakers and to install them in 45minutes! I highly recommend Audio Express to anyone who needs speaker installation...
