I went into this store to return an item I had purchased at the Brentwood location. (I had gone to that location to look for an item this location was out of) I had my receipt and the card I used to purchase the item. Not only did I have to wait in line for quit sometime ( I was the only one in line) because the cashier was setting up a credit card account with the customer she was helping but when she started to help me she was rude and acted as if I had stolen the item. How, when I had my reciept AND the debit card I had used. She kept my receipt and my return receipt while she kept looking the item over for any dings, etc.. and then retrieved a PDF scanner and was looking something up. I finally had to ask for my receipts and she was hesitant to give them to me. I asked if there was a problem and she rudely said that there usually was a tag on the bottom of the item in addition to the tag attached. I was so upset at her behavior that I wanted to get a manager. My husband wanted to just leave because he was so frustrated and felt the manager wouldnt do anything anyway. He felt that the cashier, Roselyn, was probably racist and judging us because we are a mixed couple. If so, shame on her. Home Goods must train their team to not profile people. We left when we were planning on doing more shopping. How many other customers have left for the same reason. I've been in retail management for years and I always remind my team to be respectful of every customer. Rosalyn could...
Read moreThis is the best Home Goods I have been to. First of all this is my favorite home store... I am the type of shopper that if I see something and need to think about it.. the item gets sold. I will go to another Home Goods to possibly find that item.. Well I didn't even know there was a Home Goods in Fairview and I am glad I foud out. Not only is this store the best out of the others that I am acustomed to in the Saint Louis and surrounding areas. The customer service blows the others out of the water. They go above and beyond even with small things.. I was hot while standing at check out the other day because I carried my son around the store an the nice cahshier moved their fan to aim it towards me when she noticed.. I know it's silly and that isn't the only nice thing they did for me but it is the small things that matter and really make a difference. She also gave my son a sticker which was sweet of her. I will be driving to this store from here on out. Everyone behind the counter, on the floor, to the store manager. I wish I had gotten their names. Props to the hiring manager! Thank you all for being a delightful...
Read moreI visited your Fairview heights, IL store this morning. I had a lively experience while shopping. While waiting to check out, I overheard the store manager (white bigger guy) talking to a sales associate about everything she did wrong while ringing another customer out. He then had her signed and Intial stating that he spoke with her. After having that difficult conversation in front of 5+ customers, she rang me out. I expressed to her I was sorry he talked to her in front of customers. After she rang me out I called him over and let him know that's a conversation you have in private and not in front of customers. He told me "as the manager I'm telling you that's a conversation I didn't need to pull her to the side and have" I explained "as a customer that's a conversation you have in private" no customer wants to hear a manager telling a sales associate everything she did wrong and that she needed to push costumers to get a credit card The sales associates name was Camille. Lovely girl. You guys need to look at who you having...
