If I could rate it Zero (0) stars I would.
Went in recently to trade some items towards an arcade cab. Was told to look around while they itemized my trade-ins. Found a few items to get, went to the counter and when asked what I wanted to do with my "left-over" credit, I said nothing I want my games back, I only want to trade for the amount I am buying, the clerk (she knows who she is) snobbishly was annoyed that she had to go and re-look the items over again to find what she wanted to take for the amount never telling me AT ALL what my items were worth.
Bull** on that, I should dictate what I WANT to sell, not what you want to cherry pick out of my offers for trade-in. If you can take the time to look my items up, you can take the time to tell me how much each item is worth, if not, I can take my business elsewhere. And in this case I WILL.
When the store was located in O'Fallon, IL years ago, the staff was friendlier, didn't treat you like you were an annoyance (the other two staff I interacted with were nice, but extremely unknowledgeable about the products and other stores in their chain and what they had available) and you could find what you were looking for at the older location.
You can occasionally find a gem in the rough here at a good price, but between some of the staff that ruins the experience and the amalgam of cigarette and cigar smells in the building you don't want to waste time trying to find those things, not matter how good the deal.
I had planned on buying a $500 arcade cabinet from them with the trade-ins I had, but after being treated like trash and having to argue with the one clerk, I'm never coming back ever. For the limited items I do manage to find when I go in, it's just not worth it to be treated like that and have to deal with all of that.
It's a shame I think less of them then Gamestop and that they are one of the FEW retro game stores in the area to choose from (some of the others aren't much better, sadly).
Never again Slackers,...
Read moreWorst costomer service in gaming stores I have ever had. They lie about return policy when you buy something entill you bring it back then only give store credit and only two thirds of your money. The short girl manager lied to my sick mother who was buying a gift for my sister. My family is poor we don't have a lot of money. She baught a 5$ controller new. It was opened to see if it works and no seal just a box that unfolds. She put it right back in and took it back up there. The manager should be educated in systems and the stores return policy she was very snobby snd rude to my sick mother. Would only give her 3.33 on store credit not even exchange it for full credit when you know they will sell it new. Terrible expierence everytime I've been there and the worst prices. Game stop is way better. You juat lost this costomer for life and...
Read moreI had a terrible experience buying a poster here, first off let me tell you that to no surprise; the staff is horrible. They do not care about you or what you want. They do not care. My initial visit consisted of me trying to buy a poster--a poster that was 17.99$ (One of the employees a day before told me ALL posters where 17.99$)... I go to checkout and the dude at the register tells me that the poster is 30$ instead! Mind you I had bought the same poster initially for 17.99$ the day before! I explained to the employee that I had bought this poster for 17.99$ earlier, he just told me... "I'm sorry that was a mistake." Sure, sure it was. Anyhow, given this "mistake" makes me question the legitimacy of ALL of the pricing in the store! Do not go here....
