It's been a childhood dream of mine to have a basketball hoop setup in my driveway. I am 40 now and with 2 kids of my own, FINALLY went out and bought the Goalrilla 72" hoop set from Dick's. Their price was about $100 cheaper than compared to Amazon and they made the purchasing experience quite pleasant & informative.
Everything was fine until I had the delivery guys from GO CONFIGURE flood an avalanche of trouble my way. GO CONFIGURE is a sports delivery and installation company that Dick's apparently has a contract with. Not once but TWICE these guys confirmed the appointments with me for setup only to NO SHOW both appts, completely wasting my precious time. In addition, when the 3 men finally showed up for installation (on Father's Day 2016), 2 of the guys appeared intoxicated on some form of a substance, which they clearly denied. Unfortunately for them, I happen to be a Board Certified Addiction specialist and just happen to know how to differentiate what a person looks like when they're sober vs intoxicated. We decided to agree to disagree on the inotixication part. However, the part that infuriated me the most about these 3 men was not the intoxication part, but rather when they informed me that they COULD NOT dig up a 4ft hole in the ground because there were 'too many rocks' and that I had to hire a professional excavator service to do the job (which will have to come out of my pocket). I asked them straight up - 'Is it that you CAN'T do it OR you DON'T WANT TO'???? To which the leader replied, 'it CAN'T be done without a machine'.
Well the very next day my Gardner (who stands about 5'5") came out and dug the 4ft hole ALONE with a shovel!!! He ended up charging me $175 for the job. Needless to say, I contacted GO CONFIGURE about my most frustrating experience to which they offered me a $75 appeasement. Wow....
To end this on a positive note, I went to Dick's earlier today, explained the situation and... Let's just say that the compensation that they offered me along with their sincerest apologies allowed me to come to peace with this most horrific nightmarish of an experience. Much Luv and respect to Dick's for their most amazing staff and customer service. They handled the situation with courtesy, compassion, professionalism which I am truly grateful for : )
I strongly recommend that if you are getting a basketball setup built in your home, buy from Dick's BUT... make sure that the Delivery/Setup team is not from GO CONFIGURE. There are plenty of services that will be happy to earn your business, and they cannot be possibly worse than GO CONFIGURE. Good luck and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible customer service. I went in to this store to look for one of those athletic masks for my sonās football game tonight. It was my first time in this store. I went in, looked around a little then stopped an employee where to find the item I was looking for. This employee was smiling walking and chatting with another employee. I asked for a Nike mask. He spoke to someone on the little microphone attached to his clothing. Someone replied and he turned to me and said āWe donāt have itā and just started walking off. I called out to him and asked did he have another brand. He stopped and spoke to someone in the little speaker again all while slowly inching away from me. He turned to me and said āWe have Under Armour.ā I said that was fine and asked where in the store could I find it. He gestured with a flick of his hand and said āJust go up front theyāll help you.ā Then he literally just walked away with his buddy. The store is huge. I didnāt know where the front was or what he meant by āthe front.ā After walking around in a circle for a while I went up to another employee chatting with a co-worker. I told her I needed help finding this particular item and no one is helping me. She spoke to someone on her little microphone which Iām assuming was the same lady as the first guy. I saw a dark hair woman responding to her. The lady seemed PISSED and annoyed. I could see her storming away and I assumed she went looking for my item but I wasnāt sure. I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. The employee I just asked for help was quiet for a moment and then went back to her convo. No one said āhold on a minuteā or anything. The dark hair lady came back with an adidas mask and I just thanked her. I seriously would have just walked out but I really needed that item for my sons game. I felt so DISGUSTING leaving that store after giving them my money like I had just been used. Itās safe to say I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I can give zero stars I would! My family and came into this location 20 min before closing. We were greeted by Abby followed up with "we close in 20 min". We said okay, thank you. Continue shopping for my son. 10 min later we approached again by Abby saying we close in 10 min. We were the only minority family in there at that time, and no other family was approached saying they were closing. I already felt some type of way. Me, my wife and my kids are all athletes, officers and military service and I was extremely offended. As we get to the counter we encountered a miscommunication with a gatorade bottle price since it was visually displayed incorrectly. As an experienced store manager I was just explain to Abby how they should take off the sign but she was quick to cut me off to see if I wanted to continue the purchase. I began to feel offended immediately because she laughed in my face and said " we are closed anyway!" She then threw the receipt at me and I had to physically make eye contact with her and ask if she really threw the receipt at me! She continued to laugh until she saw that I was serious about this situation. The manager did absolutely nothing to make us feel satisfied about the situation. We spent over $200 dollars for my son's football season and I would not be returning to the Fairless Hills location. My family and I felt extremely embarrassed, profiled and rushed from a company we always shop since we come from a family of athletes. This was unacceptable customer service. Hope this...
