My sister and I came here, seconds for me and a constellation for my sister, so both lobe piercings. We came in, said we both wanted needle piercings. The two employees in the store at the time were only certified for device piercings so they tried to convince us to do that instead because we “didn’t need” them for lobe piercings and needle is only required for cartilage piercings. We both said no, and said we’d come back when there was a nurse available to do the needle piercings. To start right off the bat with pressure like that was really not cool because they were visibly upset about is choosing to come back.
We came back a few hours later, and we each selected earrings. WOW are they expensive! I got two tiny studs and they were almost $200, and that’s just the jewelry! The nurse really was great, but she really struggled with getting the backing to attach once the needle was in my ear, which was a little painful. That wasn’t necessarily her fault but it was just adding to my stress.
Long story short, we bought the piercing earrings, the piercing services themselves, some extra earrings, and the cleaning kit. My total alone was well over $500, plus tip!!! I was absolutely shocked. I was itemizing in my head along the way and it still felt like a lot.
Rowan boasts a decreased rate of infection because registered nurses conduct the services. My sister and I followed the instructions to a T, and we each experienced infections in all of our piercings. I am now 7 months out from when we went and I am still having issues with my piercings. I still haven’t even changed the earrings because I have consistently been infected. Plus, Rowan charges money to just change the backing of the earring. Holy cow!
Moral of the story, I’d recommend you find a local piercer and support a small business. I fully regret...
Read more"I visited Rowan in Farmington Station with my 17-year-old daughter and initially had a great experience. The nurse Erika who assisted us was friendly and explained everything clearly, including the recommendation to change to a shorter back after a month. However, after the piercing got infected right after changing to the shorter back, we returned and had a completely different experience with Nurse Lindsey. She was defensive and unhelpful, even suggesting that we had changed the back on our own accord despite being told to do so by their staff. This lack of accountability and poor customer service was disappointing. I left the place without having my earring back and felt super humiliated by Lindsay treatment towards me . For the price point, I expected better guidance and support, especially when dealing with complications. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place based on our recent...
Read moreThey’re good, easy going, parking is a nightmare, they need to hire at least one more person to work on the piercings (the girl that did my baby’s piercing and my moms was running around with 3 people that showed up as walk-ins)… I guess I would keep it as appointment only until the get more workers, it’s CLEAN which is great, seems very safe and a nice environment… but expensive, very expensive. Plan for 110$ + tax. They’ll try to sell you a cleaning spray for 20$ that you can get on Amazon for 7$, plan accordingly. But overall, for kids and babies, it’s way better than going to the...
