Let me try to write this post without being emotional..... I have been a loyal shopper with the Marshall's in Fayetteville, Nc for at least 20 years. I spend a lot of money in there on a weekly basis. So much that the associates know me when I walk in. My children and I was in the store last night shopping when we noticed we were being watched by security. Every where we went he appeared along with the manager. My kids went to the fitting room to try on clothes while my youngest son and I waited on the outside. The manager (Shameka) and security guy appeared at the fitting room. It was so obvious because she was trying on sunglasses. After being followed numerous times, I spoke with one of the associates there who knows me and met family from shopping at the store for years and expressed my concerns and disappointment. At this point I'm so upset I'm trying to fight back tears. She was in disbelief. I then asked for the corporate office number. My next request was to speak with the manager personally. The manager came over and I expressed to her that I have been a long standing customer of Marshalls and have never experienced being profiled. I asked her why she and the security followed my kids and I throughout the store. She proceeded to tell me her story security guy alerted her and other associates to watch us for suspicious behavior. I asked what type of suspicious behavior could we have displayed when we didn't bring any bags in and my purse is pretty much a little bigger than a wallet size. My kids had on jeans and a sweater. Where were we going to put items to steal? She apologized and said she is sorry but he alerted her. I asked her to call him over so he can explain to me why he felt the need to profile my family. She pretended to call him on the store phone then said he must have left already. I asked her why didn't she call him from her earpiece just as he probably did to alert them to watch us? She couldn't answer me. I told her that there are good people out here that is honest and make a real living with reputable jobs that don't steal. Just because a person has a buggy filled with clothes doesn't mean they are stealing. I probably spend on a average at least $700 a week there. Not that status means anything because it doesn't make a person but why would I steal when I have a $60,000 car I drive in their parking lot and live in a very nice neighborhood and work very hard everyday. I called the same employee over and asked her to advise the manager of the amount of years that I have been shopping there and the amount of money I spend on a regular there. Which she did stress to the manager and agreed to everything I stated. I could name just about every manager that have been at that store over the 20 yrs who know me as well. I told her to talk to her cashiers because they all know me. I was going to leave my cart with items there because I was that upset but I continued with my purchase. The cashier at the register saw how visibly upset I was that she walked over to ask me what was wrong. I began to explain to her and broke down in tears. She and another associate who knew me came over to hug me and apologize. They said this should have never happened to me because I'm great customer. The moral is no customer should have to experience this and neither could should my children. The security and manager need to have additional training on Customer Service and Loss Prevention because this store can potentially lose...
Read moreI had to come edit my previous review. For the past month this store has gotten it together. Ms Peggy I’m home decor and bedding/linen is taking this store to a whole other dimension once again. I’m seeing new items and clothing everyday. The store is being cleaned by a cleaning lady throughout the day. The shoe department used to sell size 11 shoes for women. They stopped when a new manager came in maybe 3 years ago. I have spoken to the store manager and shoe manager and they never fix that issue. If the Sanford store can get in size 11 in women shoes so can our store. Also, we need more shoes they were making the shoe area smaller yesterday and we need more shoes for women, men and children continuously! Bring in double of some of the styles. Also, please bring back the 4 different racks of handbags especially the Italian ones by Arcadia. These are definitely high selling. We need more decor for our home ex. Statues, vases, decorative artwork. These items sell out fast and we are left for weeks with empty shelves. Fayetteville is a retirees and military community that loves to shop and we shop all day. Please also bring in more men clothing and also men’s size xxl. Thank you for listening because I hear someone saying they don’t shop at Fayetteville’s Marshall’s because it’s empty I tell them to go check it out now. We have evolved and it’s no longer neglected and just used as a hub for manager and assistant mangers to start from and leave. I take pride in our community!!! Thank you to Ms Eula, Ms Peggy, Kim, Ramone and others for your subperb assistance and doing a great job in your areas. They are always there to lend a hand and make our shopping...
Read moreI went to buy some clothes today and when I went to the dress room to try on 8 items one old lady was working at the dress room. I told her I have 8 items that I am going to try on then she was saying “ma’am we have a system here. You need to hang each clothes to this hangar so the camera can see you and what you have”. well, it was first time ever that I had to hang each clothes one by one to display so the “camera can see”. Her tone of voice was not very polite but anyway I did it. She said it is their “system” so I guess system it is? After I tried the clothes I decided to buy 3 out of the 8 clothes. The lady was out of her desk so I called her then asked where she wants me to leave the clothes. Then she again made me to hang each clothes on the hangar so “the camera” can see me. The funny thing is that when I was about to turn around there was another customer just came in with clothes in her hands and she simply just mentioned “I have 3 items” then the same old lady just let her to try her clothes without letting her hang it one by one to display the clothes to camera. You guys need to train, maintain certain standards or “system” and apply to everyone and don’t judge people by looking. I feel very discriminated today. Of course I am not...
