Trudy's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Federal Way

I love this place! My wedding Anniversary is on Valentines Day and if you think it's easy to find a Valentine-Anniversary card, you'd be sorely mistaken! I've searched everywhere, for eleven years and have never been successful, until this year, when I found this place. They told me that they only stock 3 cards, that are appropriate for Valentine Anniversaries and two of them had been sold! I got the last one! Until now, I've had to make my own greeting cards for this occasion! These folks were extremely helpful and very pleasent to deal with. The young woman that helped me, spent a lot of time with me, signing me up for their rewards program and with a smile, told me she had the same birthday as me, but quickly informed me that she was not born in 1956, like I was. Funny, I didn't really notice any age difference in how old we both looked, but I elected to not point out that I looked a little younger. I thought I'd spare her feelings, since she was so nice and helpful. Now, if you believe that, I've got some land I'll sell you cheap, off the coast of Florida! Great place! Made my year! And, they're a bunch of cards there, too, let me tell ya!

Came for the first time today and wow, what a fun experience! This store is huge and has something for everyone. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a woman (maybe THE Amy?) who informed us of the special promotions going on. She was smiley and friendly. A few moments later, I asked another employee a question about the price of a product, and not only did she know off the top of her head, but she even told me how to get the best discount on it. The third employee I interacted with was a male cashier who was upbeat, funny and also very informative while telling us about the fine print on a coupon we earned for future use. All three employees were so warm and welcoming and knowledgeable. I was so impressed! And amazed, considering it's Black Friday weekend! A+++ to the staff.

The store is, as I said, huge, and a few small shopping carts are available. The aisles are not so small and congested that you can't get the carts around, which I appreciated a lot. Besides the obvious card and gift wrap choices, there's a wonderful selection of gifts and home decor, accessories like handbags, collectibles featuring Snoopy, Star Wars, Disney and even Pusheen (!!), and an impressively large Pandora jewelry section.

I had a blast shopping here and I expect I'll be visiting frequently from...

BUYER BEWARE I went into the store yesterday and picked out a lovely necklace for my daughter. I placed the item on a 24 hour hold and was told very specifically that the amount would be $94 with tax. I was directed this was only good through today (the next day). I called this morning at 9:45am to let them know I would be coming in to pick up the necklace and I wanted to confirm the total. I was told that the Pandora Special was over yesterday by Maloney (the store manager) and even though the employee I initially dealt said when I picked it up it would be $94. She said she would not/could no honor what I was promised. I am disabled and it is difficult for me to go "shopping" so this was a huge let down as this was my daughters birthday/Christmas present. I would not shop here. This is very close to a bait and switch....
