Very disappointed! Searched many furniture stores for a couple “beachy” throw pillows and a matching ottoman. Finally found what I wanted at Bethany Resort Furnishings so I placed my order in the summer. Pillows came in, I picked them up, went out to my car and noticed one was frayed at the seam, so I went back in and they agreed to get me another one. The fraying was obvious and I was surprised no one “inspected” it before selling it to me. They got me another one a few weeks later, no problem. When the ottoman came in, there was dirt on the fabric. I know it was dirt because when I rubbed it, some of it came off in my hand. The sales rep was very kind and she told me they would have customer care try to clean it so I agreed and left it with them. Customer Care called me weeks later to let me know they cleaned it and that I’ll still see some gray but that’s part of the fabric. The woman who called me stated that if I’m not happy when I pick it up, my options are to pick a different fabric or return it. I went to pick it up today (11/1) and there were still “gray” spots. One sales rep told me “it’s the fabric.” Again I wiped it and it was clearly dirt. Again, she tried to convince me “it’s the fabric” but the gray spots were nowhere else on the ottoman. I decided to return the pillows and told them I didn’t want the ottoman either. The one sales person kindly refunded me while the other sales person (who told me it wasn’t dirty, it was part of the pattern) began wiping the ottoman with a towel and whispered to the other sales rep that “it actually is dirt.” It was very disappointing that they tried to convince me (and themselves) that what I saw was “part of the fabric” when it was crystal clear that it was dirty and no one attempted to clean it properly. I didn’t think buying two throw pillows and a small ottoman would require five trips to the store and be such a difficult and frustrating experience! You offer some lovely furniture but I...
Read moreI've been visiting Bethany Beach for over 30 years multiple times a year. Imagine my disappointment when I walk in to this store that I've driven by for quite a few years and the older woman who was sitting at a desk never acknowledges us? I'm speaking loud enough for her to realize I'm looking for a bed to finish my coastal- themed master bedroom and she completely ignores me and my companion. We are a friendly couple and after realizing she's not going to offer assistance (she was working with another couple when we first came into her presence but she had bid them a great day and was now free) I said "good afternoon". She mumbled (without looking up) "good afternoon" and went back to shuffling papers not asking us if we needed assistance. It was awkward and unusual in my experience but she couldn't have cared less. Another staff member had come into the area after overhearing the exchange and rushed in to cover her coworkers' insubordination. She was very nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name. I found the exact bed I looking for that I'd seen in a magazine years ago! It was priced within my budget and she gave me delivery options. Unfortunately I decided they don't deserve my business. The first staff member we encountered was upbeat and very pleasant to the couple sitting with her when we arrived and she gave similar energy to a gentleman and his daughter after we walked away. We realized that we are a minority in Bethany but in 30 years we never felt anything but welcome in EVERY establishment we've patronized. We love it there. So I will find my beautiful new bed at another retailer as much as I want it now because this company needs to do some diversity training or give someone a pink slip. Either way, they...
Read moreJames seemed very knowledgeable BUT information he gave us kept changing. Sectional we choose was in the warehouse. Then it wasn't and had to be ordered. 8-12 weeks for delivery. No problem we were in no hurry. In less than a month he called and said it was in. We weren't ready for delivery. No problem. Call when you're ready, it will be wrapped and safe in the warehouse. We're ready for delivery. Called and arranged for delivery. 2 days before scheduled delivery, Donaway calls and the one piece of the sectional isn't available!! What? Where is it? It was wrapped, secure, our name on it. Safe in the warehouse! Guess not!! We says to deliver what you've got! You'll get a call the night before with a delivery window. NO call!! Delivery of the one piece just shows up. Hopefully we get the other piece but feel like either we were lied to, told what he thought we wanted to hear, or the missing piece was sold to someone else....
