Cynthia's Hallmark — Local services in Fishers

Previously, I enjoyed visiting this establishment for special purchases for loved ones during the Christmas season, but today ended my desire, especially for a sweet experience with my 12 y.o. daughter. Upon entering, after eating lunch next door, and throughout our entire visit, one more senior employee with white short hair stared at us and we were not greeted by the other two employees (1 seated: working on a project, the other: in the back stockroom). The employee at the counter expressed not even a soft smile or offering of help. As two more customers entered the store, she verbally greeted them briefly, and quickly (re)fixated on us. Every time I looked up, her eyes were on us. There were items I desired to purchase and knew I would not (based on the atmosphere), yet when my daughter made her discomfort very clear, we left. Terrible customer service! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! BUYER BEWARE! My fiance and I got a memories board from a different Hallmark location as a gift. We didn't like the color (red) so went in to exchange it for a different color. The store manager was extremely rude and refused to return it blabbing off incoherent reasons as to why they wouldn't take it. Her main reasoning for not letting us do the exchange was that they "don't sell many red ones so they didn't want ours and we were stuck with it". She also mentioned that they're a small business and hoped we'd understand. They would not let us pick a different color even with a receipt! The manager said that 99% of items they sell are not even "theirs" and you can't even return them. Very rude and bad experience overall. My local Hallmark store closed over a year ago and I didn't think I would find one to replace mine, but Cynthia's Hallmark has filled the whole in my heart. I recently went there to purchase Christmas ornaments and the staff was very helpful in allowing me to purchase display ornaments when there were no more on the shelf. I think the lady who checked me out had never had someone buy so many ornaments at one time. I buy an ornament for each of my children and grandchildren and several for myself each year.
