We have been regular customers of this particular Panera Bread location for many years and I'm sad to report that our orders are incorrect more often than they're correct (forgotten pickles, anyone?), even after countless interactions with store/regional/national management. They often then add a reward to our Panera Bread account to entice us to come back --- which we always do, but too often with the same result. Lather, rinse, repeat.
We did see a short-lived improvement in order accuracy a few months ago, for which I complimented them and thanked them. But our orders since have exhibited flaws again.
Our last rapid pickup order wasn't on the designated shelf, so my wife sat there for ten minutes, waiting. No one asked her if she needed help and the order never appeared, so she got up to walk back toward the prep area to inquire...and there set our order.
When she arrived home with our salads, sides and flatbread, we discovered that the salads had chicken on them (we're vegetarians and requested no chicken) and the Margherita flatbread had tomato, but no basil. Too bad (a) it was her birthday the next day and (b) basil is her favorite.
I was so miffed by these issues that I picked up the phone and called the store TWICE, but was disconnected both times after 3+ minutes without ever reaching a human. So, per usual, I sent a note to corporate customer service and got a canned reply and a reward added to our account. Sigh.
The other thing I would like to mention is that it is unfair and discriminatory to vegetarians to be charged the same as carnivores, when we ask for a meat item to be left off and are not given a substitution option --- especially when the too-small-a-portion salad is priced so high.
We've patronized other Panera Bread locations in the Central Indiana area and in numerous other states, where we've lived part-time and traveled, and have never had the type of sub-par experience we've had at the 96th Street location --- repeatedly.
Here's hoping that Panera Bread corporate can turn this store around someday, but we've been patronizing it for many years and, despite the lip service they've given regarding improving this store's operations, we've never seen lasting improvement. Fingers crossed that they someday get it right.
EDIT 9-27-22: After sending them multiple gentle complaints, we apparently got someone's attention, as our orders have tended to be correct lately. We must now be on Panera's "this customer will complain if their order's incorrect, so do your best work list," as each time we order, we get a survey from Panera. I'm happy to say that in the last half dozen orders or so, I've not needed to point out any flaws. Thank you to Panera for taking our input seriously and for improving this store's order accuracy. We're regular customers and will continue to be as long as things continue to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDONT GO TO THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU WANT STAFF TO HIT YOUR CAR. Nobody is ever held accountable anymore so this will probably fall of deaf ears but employee Janese Edward's hit our car when she pulled into the parking space next to us when we were leaving after our meal. As we overlooked our car she just sat in hers the whole time until she saw me take a picture of her license plate. We were calm and asked if she had her insurance card and info for us. She was annoyed and told us she didn't have insurance but would give us the card of the owner of the car. The card expired in 2016. When we asked for her info she was even more annoyed and told us she didn't have time to deal with us and needed to go back into work yet she sat in her car for 5 minutes while we looked at the damage. We told her we would gladly call the cops then she reluctantly gave us her information while being annoyed telling us she has been hit many times before and we were being ridiculous and petty. I should be petty and post a picture of her ID on here but instead I'll keep the pictures and send them to corporate instead. She just scratched our rim and some of the side panel but for her to not apologize and be annoyed with US is ridiculous, if she would've just said sorry and kindly gave us her info this wouldn't have been a big deal since nobody was hurt and only minimal damage. She told us all the damage on the front of her car was already there but it's fine we have pictures of the chipped paint from her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst service I have ever had a Panera or any drive through window. They also do not answer the phone.
I ordered a salad and two bagels with extra cream cheese. I was given my salad with one burnt bagel loose in the bag(not wrapped in a bag or napkin, with no cream cheese at all let alone extra. I drove away before realizing I didnāt have everything. When I went back to the drive up window a different person was there. A young gentleman. He answered the window saying, āAre you the one who forgot a bagel?ā Like I knew I was missing it. He handed me my second bagel with cream cheese but no extras. I told him I had requested extra cream cheese. He rolled his eyes at me and said they were in there. I said no I ordered two bagels and I have two cream cheeses when I should have 4. He rolled his eyes again and went and got the extras with an attitude. When he came back I said for the record I did not forget the bagel your co worker forgot to give it to me. It wasnāt his fault, I wasnāt trying to blame him only correct his awful choice of words. He said, āI wasnāt even around, I just got back from my break itās not my problem.ā Then quite literally slammed the window closed in my face.
When I tried to call to speak with a manger no one answered. I tried TEN times over two hours (in between meal times when their call service said they would be less busy).
They do not seem to care a lick about how they represent Panera...
