What happened since the last time I ordered? Quality has suffered and prices have skyrocketed (note: This is a problem with the brand, not this specific location. Everything was made to order as specified by corporate I’m sure)
Had my usual order of a Large pizza and Stix which has gone up considerably in price compared to 6 months ago. Used to be 15 and some change with a deal now we’re pushing closer to 25 which is insane by itself for Toppers pizza but more over the food just sort of sucks now is the only way I can put it. Looks like they switched purveyors of marinera sauce and what they got now is this neon red concoction that’s sort of sour and lacking in tomato flavor and visually has less spices in it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it were the evil Sysco as they have ruined many a restaurant. I get profits must go up but the crap they peddle is just bad.
They cut back on cheese on the stix so they only have a paper thin veneer of mozzarella on top and they were dry. Like the dough has just this sort of flavorless chewy texture to it that’s not pleasant.
This pizza was still good though and was I remembered so I’m a bit perplexed as to the quality difference so are the doughs for the stix and pizza different now? Why? The stix are now just an inferior choice to just the regular hand tossed pizza.
Also while I rarely did delivery because I live so close to this location (I’ve done it once while this location has been in operation), hearing they killed their own delivery in favor of those horrible app services where your getting god knows who delivering and being around your food items that are not secured in any way is disconcerting at best. Eliminating a job position in favor of more profits is not a good look.
Overall I think I would order just the pizza again but am disappointed the main thing that set the brand apart was the stix specifically and the price. It seemed they have lost both of those things and it’s just sort of disappointing...
Read moreI ordered a vegan pizza and received one theyd put bacon on. I then called to let them know about this and ask for a correct one to be sent. They said they'd do it right away and it would be here in 15-20 minutes (it was a Monday night, so not busy, and I live about 5 minutes away). I was also told the manager would call me when they arrived at 7.
I ended up calling back 30 minutes later to see what the status was and was told it hadn't left yet, so I asked for a refund. The person who answered the phone couldn't process it, but said the manager would be there at 7 and would handle it and call me right away (they said they left another note to have the manager call).
I ended up calling at 8:30 after not hearing back, the manager hadnt yet done the refund but stated they did it while on the phone with me (I assume they did, but I won't be able to verify until tomorrow).
I can't imagine trusting this store to make me food again. Had I eaten the pizza theres a good chance I would've gotten sick, then they put no urgency at all on correcting their mistake and just left me hungry, and then again put no effort nor urgency into apologizing and correcting the situation.
Literally the worst experience I've ever had ordering pizza, and I hope if this isn't some freak accident that Toppers corporate looks into whoever owns this franchise before they ruin Toppers name more permanently.
Edit: Toppers attempt to resolve this was by expecting me to sign up for their loyalty program to get a free pizza. Seriously? You screw up this hard and your fix is asking me to sign up for a loyalty program? ...
Read moreThis used to be our favorite pizza place but we will never order from it or probably any other Toppers ever again. In the last year they have become completely, 100% unreliable. Delivery food arrives cold and wrong more often than not; even if you go for pickup it's not done when they tell you and it's STILL wrong. Worse, if you try to call the store after getting home with wrong food, you're literally prevented from talking to anyone about a correction. Instead you're redirected to an overseas call center who tell you they can't help then put you on hold FOREVER. At this point they're just openly stealing money. As I type this I am standing in the Toppers lobby waiting on them to finally remake my botched order after 25+ minutes on hold with three different calls, them having to drive all the way back over here and my dinner, which was supposed to be ready at 10:04, will be lucky to get home by midnight.
Update: The remade order was also wrong, I tried calling again and nobody picked up yet again for 20 minutes, and when I went back a second time to try and get the correct food, the manager threw the improperly made second set of pizza all over the counter, screamed profanities at me and physically threatened me.
So this store has explicitly robbed me of $40 and put me in physical danger after screwing up the order twice tonight, presumably because said manager is very visibly stoned, intoxicated, or perhaps just a psychopath.
I'm considering contacting the police in the morning. I've never felt like my life was at risk over a damn...
