I’ve been a patient at Target Optical for the past two years and have generally had good experiences. However, my most recent visit was disappointing and frustrating.
I went in for my annual eye exam and expressed interest in trying contact lenses. The staff helped determine which lenses would be the best fit, and I returned for a contact lens training session, which went smoothly. After the class, I asked to finalize my contact lens prescription, but was informed the doctor was not available and that I should call back during the week.
I followed up as instructed, but was told the doctor was busy and would return my call. I waited two days with no response. I called again and was told the prescription would be emailed to me within a few hours—unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I called once more and was told to allow a few more days. After my fourth or fifth attempt, I finally asked if picking it up in person would be quicker, and they confirmed it would be.
I don’t understand why this wasn’t suggested from the start. What should have been a straightforward process turned into almost two weeks of follow-ups, which was especially frustrating given my demanding schedule working two jobs.
While I usually don’t leave negative reviews, I feel it’s important to share this experience for others who value timely and efficient service. I hope Target Optical can improve their communication and follow-through...
Read moreThis is the WORST eye doctor/ optical appointment experience I have ever had. Dr. Morganthaler gave me an inaccurate prescription that was off by a significant amount. He said that my nearsightedness had “gotten better” and my new prescription was “weaker than my old one”. I had to schedule a second exam elsewhere to get that rectified. The second optometrist was astounded at how wrong he was. When I called him to discuss this, he said that I was wrong. Secondly, I was told my insurance would cover the copay, and I signed a form agreeing to pay the 50$ for the contact lens trial. Then two weeks later I received a bill in the mail for an additional 75$ because my insurance did not actually cover the appointment. Had I known that ahead of time, I would have cancelled the appointment, but now have no option but to pay. They should have seen that my copay would not covered before my appointment and notified me, as that is standard procedure. Lastly, I came in 10 mins Ute early and was seen 40 minutes late. I wasn’t super bothered at the time, as I know things like this happen. However, looking at the reviews I see this is a common complaint. Please don’t waste your time...
