Kimbrell's Furniture. As written by an ex-employee. The truth.
As a kimbrell's employee, I learned about many things, including various policies that I, and many others (including various employees) who know these things, don't agree with, at all.
Kimbrell's Furniture requires each individual salesperson to make the store 30,000 dollars a month, minimum. If you can't consistently do that: you're fired. You also don't make any commission from sales unless you make the minimum 30k. I got fired because I didn't do the impossible, and didn't make a dime off of any commission because I didn't do the impossible. Kimbrell's doesn't properly advertise. No TV commercials, nothing. Just flyers and a few radio ads, here and there, on select few stations. Kimbrell's does not understand that as a business: you have to spend money to make money. Instead, they put the advertising on the salespeople. Keep in mind as well: hardly anyone goes in there, for the most part. You'll do a lot of sitting scrolling on tiktok bored out of your mind if you work there as a salesperson. In addition, they see the hourly wages they pay you (11 an hour) as a loan, despite the fact that you as an employee take time out of your day to go up there and work, whether you want to or not. They also fire the office employees if they have customers they've rung up who don't make their payments. They send the truck/delivery guys to knock on said people's doors, and have office people call them. These are some of many policies they have established within their company that are unrealistic, disadvantageous, contradictory, and overall provides no job security, fair chance at sales, and puts people out of jobs. There are customers to this day that have still not received furniture from Kimbrell's, and they have waited months. They also have you login to your computer and online sites with your last 4 digits of your social visible, and mind you, the sites are not secure networks: which means they're easily hackable, not secure with privacy, etc. Also, the last 4 numbers of your social are the most unique individual numbers of your entire social security number. Only having the last 4 digits of your social visible doesn't secure the privacy of your SSN, because all someone needs to get your entire SSN is the last 4 digits, the area you live in, etc. As stated by SSA .gov, "The nine-digit SSN is composed of three parts: The first set of three digits is called the Area Number. The second set of two digits is called the Group Number. The final set of four digits is the Serial Number." The last 4 digits of your social being visible, especially in websites that are not secure, is very dangerous.
If you plan on working for kimbrell's, keep these things in mind before making your final decision. I would advise that if you accept that job because you NEED one, make sure you apply for other places and try to get a better job, and use kimbrell's as a way to earn money, in the meantime. When you get hired, if you are not 100 percent confident you can make a minimum of 30K for the store, then go ahead and count down 2 months. That's about how long you've got before they fire you. If you plan on shopping there, you do you, but keep in mind the way they treat their employees, and consider the company's policies and how they affect people, and then decide if you want to support the company or not. This is the truth, so do with it what you will.
The employees of the stores have nothing to do with these policies and how negatively they affect people. It is the company that implements their policies. Some of the employees are really nice, it's a shame they have to put up with this company's policies. One particular employee did hit on me. š¬
This is the truth. Simply the truth. Sincerely, a kimbrell's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give ZERO I would. Let me start by saying we purchased a full bedroom set for us and then an additional large chair for a house warming present for our daughter.
We were told to call them in 2 weeks if we did not hear anything from them. So we called, we were told the foot board was only thing missing and to call back in a week. So we called again a week later, still no foot board. Finally, I called them and said to just cancel everything if they did not have it by the following week.
Amazingly, it came in(really they took off floor model). They set delivery for last Tuesday before 2pm. This is where it really gets ridiculous. No one shows or calls by 2pm. My wife and daughter took half days from work to be home.
So, at 3:30 we call, they tell my wife they had a delay and are enroute to our house. Still no one at 5:15pm. So I call and ask what is going on and what eta is now. They proceed to tell me the truck is otw back to the store to load our order. IT WAS NEVER EVEN ON THE TRUCK TO GET DELIVERED.
They finally show up at 7pm. They deliver and setup everything then proceed to tell us the slats to put down the box springs are not there. Telling me everything was in the box except for the foot board (which is where the slats come in) was not in box. So that is how we know the foot board was taken from the floor model.
They then say they cannot return with the slats until Thursday. They then deliver the chair to my daughter at 8:30pm.
It gets better, when delivering they brought in a king size mattress. So we thought it was part of the package. I opened it up and my wife and 3 Large Husky dogs slept on it for the next 2 nights since we had no slats.
The sales person calls my wife and says the mattress was delivered by mistake. My wife tells her it was opened and slept on. She says, oh okay, let me talk with the manager. They never call back.
On Thursday, the delivery driver calls to say he is en route with the slats and needs to get the slept on mattress back. We tell him our son is home and will let him in, we explain mattress to him. He calls back and says he still needs to grab mattress back.
They arrive with slats, NEVER SCREWED THEM IN, fell off last night (first night sleeping on them since we were outta town) took the slept on mattress and left.
This is not the first time we purchased from them but now after this complete fiasco you can bet it is the LAST TIME.
Also, anyone who buys a king size pillow top mattress, BEWARE it was slept on by my wife and 3...
