I was directed to this store by Assurant Insurance (Tmobile) to get the screen fixed on my cell phone. The entire process was a breeze up until meeting Mike at the store today. When I filed the insurance claim, I opted for same-day phone repair, and this store was confirmed and included in my documentation. Upon scheduling a time & date of the repair (to complete the online process), the website was erroring out, so I called the store to explain the claim & the website error I was receiving, and to get feedback on if I was able to come in due to the error. The person who answered the phone heard me out and was extremely helpful. I set up the time I'd come in and was there promptly. He also told me there was 1 person in front of me and that the repair could take up to 1.5hrs. I was perfectly fine with that. Paid the deductible (under $20), confirmed my appointment time, and verified phone details before hanging up. He was VERY nice. When I got to the store, Mike assisted me and was not as friendly or helpful as everyone else had been. He told me I wasn't in their system and that there was nothing he could do to assist me. He didn't even attempt to offer calling Assurant to see if the error was their own system. He didn't want to see the insurance claim email that I was trying to show him with their store information attached, didn't want to see the error that I was receiving online, the claim number, nothing. He was less than curious about who I verbally spoke with (from their location) that gave me the green light to come in at that very time. I literally got the green light about an hour before heading to the store, so I'm unsure where the disconnect was, and Mike could care less. He wasn't mean whatsoever, just not as helpful as he could have been. Had he even FAKED better customer service, I would have accepted that since I'm typically a positive patty 24/7. He was very dismissive, and for that, I'm leaving this review. It was a wasted trip, and Mike was less than helpful with the remedy for the situation. Now, I'm out of pocket about $90 to have their store cut-out of the process altogether, and have a phone replacement mailed when I could have simply had the screen repaired in less than 1.5hrs by their store. It was ridiculous for it to be a beautiful Friday afternoon, and ended up leaving work for less than favorable service from Mike. The 2 stars are for the person who assisted me on the phone from their location, and the younger guy in the store who was assisting another customer (but chimed in to attempt to help anyway). Kudos to you two for having great...
Read moreBeen here four times for help.
1st time to replace batteries in a computer UPS. Their price on two batteries was more than what I paid for the whole UPS!! I found the exact same batteries on the internet at less than half their price (including shipping.)
2nd time was to replace a Timex digital watch battery. They told me they don't have a "tool" to remove the battery from the holder and would NOT guarantee it would be waterproof after they replaced the battery! The guy behind the counter was actually a little rude and seemed irritated that I would even bring the watch to them. His recommendation was to take it to a jeweler.
I found the battery at Walgreens and replaced it myself with a jewlers screwdriver. I guess the guy couldn't figure out that the battery retainer had a screw that had to be removed. The watch is working fine, and it only cost me $3.99.
3rd time was to replace a battery for an Averatec laptop. They could not find a cross reference for an exact match, but their closest match was $128, but they would NOT guarantee that it would work, and if they ordered it in for me, I bought it no matter what. I found an exact match through Google for $67 and had it in 3 days.
4th time was to replace a watch battery on a Lifefitness Heart Rate Monitor watch. They wouldn't even attempt to replace the battery, saying they could NOT get the watch band off to clear the back plate. I admit it was a cheap watch with a rubber wrist band, but the watch worked and I used it every day. Taking it to a jewler (their suggestion) would cost twice as much as a new watch. Walgreens has this battery for $3.99 for a single, or $5.49 for a two-pack. It took me a half-hour to remove one side of the watch band and replace the battery.
I have friends who have had good luck using Batteries Plus in So County and Webster Groves. Maybe it is just the No Lindbergh location? Irritating part is they're only a few blocks from a relatives house, so I pass by there once or twice a week. So much for convenience.
My advice would be to do your research BEFORE you go to...
Read moreWe put in a new charging system in the bike. We then went to batteries plus to buy a battery as a friend had referred us. The first time they gave us the wrong battery. We took it back and they exchanged it for the correct one We put it in and my husband rode it to work to show off his bike to his coworkers. When he tried to start it it was completely dead. We had to haul it home. He had the charging system tested again at Weidman's Harley repair shop. My husband tried to take the battery back, but they gave the same spiel they give to others, it's the consumers fault and there is nothing wrong with the battery and that the Harley repair shop didn't have the tools to test it. Yeah right, they repair Harleys, they have all the equipment. We put a full charge on it again and he rode it again, just 3 miles and mowed a lawn and when he went to start it, nothing. So, we hauled it home again. He put a full charge on it yesterday, and the same thing happened. He took it back this morning, they gave it a partial charge and said it was holding the charge, it must be the bike. Tomorrow we are taking it and the bike to the dealer, to have a parasitic draw test done on it. If the results are the same as Weidman's and St. Charles Harley Davidson, we expect a full refund. If we don't get a full refund and apology, we will take it to the BBB and complain to Channel 2 or 4. I will also be handing out fliers of customer complaints to consumers coming to and leaving the store on the sidewalk. No customer should be treated the way we are being treated by your store and I hope you see the light and...
