I share this review cause on whoever was the night shift and whoever she was working at the front door i believe there the ppl that get your online order ready if not I think the front door ppl actually let the ppl know that there someone’s here for there order or they just assist ppl on the right section there looking for but just to keep this story short I place a online order and keep in mind yes I placed maybe 1 or maybe 1 hour and half a order so I can go head and picked it up yes it Christmas so I get it it can be very hectic getting all these order ready but also I’m coming from forney Texas to picked these items up and so they can be on reserved before anyone can get it and they can be like sorry we don’t have them anymore so I speed to get the items I go before they close I get there about 9:20 and I can see on my app that the order still hasn’t even been ready for pickup but I did place it before they close cause no we’re in there website does it say hey if u place a order u will have to pick it up tomorrow or nothing like that and I made sure the app didn’t say that either cause some apps will tell u hey if u place a order at this certain time well we will full fill your order tomorrow and it be ready for pickup up
So I go in rushing of course trying to get these last two hoverboard for Christmas gift for my nephews I asked the lady his these items ready she goes no u will have to pick it up tomorrow I go well can yall get it ready now since im here she still goes no u will have to picked them up tomorrow sorry I get so frustrated I storm were i believe the items are which is by the bikes and scooter area well guess what guys I find the items my self frustrated to see that no one had the urgency to scan them get them and put it in the back that’s so sad cause imagen if I did hurry someone could have just gotten just cause the night shift manager didn’t want to get those items ready and get them set and ready for pick up for me or any other customers So when I get them I go to the lady in the front and say hey can u on your system just scan these items and get them ready for pick so I can leave with them she says to me nope I can’t do that sorry u will just have to cancel them on your app since u did. Its on your app luckily I’m very tech savy so I knew were to click cancel order check so mad and that’s it if the night manager didn’t want to do the order we’ll just cause of pure laziness y is he even there I get it time to close but no were did it state I couldn’t place the order and I will have to get it there the next day pick up I’m pretty sure anyone or maybe the one that are designated to get order ready could have gotten the items ready for me but just frustrated it’s was Christmas time so there so...
Read moreUnbelievable experience today at Academy Sports in Flower Mound. We went there to buy a $350 stationary exercise bike for my 95 year old dad. At 95, his cardiologist told him to get some exercise. We found the perfect bike, with arm movement as well. The exercise equipment has a small strap lock to prevent them from being used. Neither the pedals nor the arms would move. Since my dad is 95, he needs to confirm he can use it and verify it is stable enough while peddling. We asked a nice man at the door if he could assist us. He contacted another guy asking him if he could help us. He said NO! He cannot unlock the bike to try it out. We reached back out to the nice gentleman at the door, asking to speak to the store manager. He came over, and we explained our need to remove the strap, if only for a minute, to verify my dad could pedal it before finalizing the purchase. He emphatically said NO! He said Corporate doesn’t allow removal of any straps for customers to test the equipment. (These straps have a three digit combination needed to remove, nothing complicated) I pled with him, asking for an exception for a 95 year old. He again said NO! No understanding, no compassion, no attempt at customer service. We walked out of the store, thanking the nice guy at the door, as we left without making a purchase. We will never purchase here again, and ask you to consider other stores if you would like to receive some semblance of customer service. Who is willing to spend $350-$1500 on exercise equipment, without having the opportunity to test it out? I understand the need to lock the equipment to keep kids from playing on them. That makes perfect sense. What makes zero sense, is refusing to allow a customer the opportunity to try out a substantial purchase before buying it. I own a business. I would never expect my customers to make a purchase without the opportunity to see if what they were going to buy will actually work, will be safe, and will meet their needs. Ridiculous. Another positive aspect of my visit was the checkout process. The lines were minimal and the cashier was efficient and friendly. The transaction was smooth and I was out of the store in no time.
The only reason I am not giving a full 5-star rating is because I encountered a slight inconvenience in finding a particular item that was out of stock. However I understand that inventory can fluctuate and this did not overshadow the overall positive experience.
Overall I highly recommend Academy Sports to anyone in need of sporting goods or outdoor equipment.
