Target — Local services in Flower Mound

Made a promise to myself to write up this review last Christmas 2017, sorry I am only just getting around to it, but it really needed to be written, so here it is!

The day after Christmas, I went in for some household goods, and since my Mom was in town I brought her with me. On the way there, she happened to confess that she had NEVER shopped at Target before!!!! WHAT?!?! She believed that Wal-mart was better, and only ever went there.

I told her how much I loved Target in general, but this location especially...and as if your team had planned it, things worked out picture perfect and dazzled my Mom!

She was first knocked out by how tidy and organized everything was, even right after Christmas. Then, she started seeing the unique, high quality offerings and was surprised that the prices were so good. But what really cinched my Mom's new love for Target was the level of service and personal attention she received, especially by Randall and Omar.

We had already been asked by 3 people if we needed help, each time I turned it down because I was finding all on my list with ease. Until it came down to a candle lighter.

We started looking when Randall approached us, and helped take us right to what we needed and was so friendly and pleasant to us, he made the long walk across half the store so short with great conversation. But then, we needed something else, and Randall nor I had a clue where to look. So Randall flagged down Omar, and Omar totally took over for us, walking us back across the store to exactly what we needed, then giving us guidance on where to find the next few items on our list.

All the while he, too, was so interested in listening to all my mother had to say and answering her questions about Target with such warmth and sincerity, he made my Mom feel like her needs and questions really mattered to him.

Bottom-line, this trip to Target was extra special last Christmas, and Omar and Randall were the ones primarily responsible for that. It stuck in my mind and meant a lot to me because my Mom is really struggling emotionally with depression after some major personal upheavals--was then and is still. She often feels rejected and unwanted by others, and the sort of service we can all receive sometimes in the retail world hits her extra hard in this frame of mind.

So the fact that this was her VERY FIRST visit to a Target and she was being treated like royalty just totally made her whole visit. She couldn't stop talking about how wonderful Target is, how she had no idea how great it could be to shop there. Thanks Target in Flower Mound. Working retail can be tough, but you have no idea how much good you are capable of working in a customer's life by just treating others the way you want to be treated. I experienced a parents worst nightmare yesterday when my daughter(15) and I were at Target. I went to the restroom and left my daughter (with my purse and phone) in the dollar section (as we call it) but when I came back she wasn't there. I started checking the clothes section and the makeup area and could not find her. I told myself not to panic and that she had to be there somewhere. I went back to the restroom but no one in there. Went back to the spot I left her but not there either. I decided to check the clothes section more thoroughly but reached the back of the store and could not find her. This is when I started to panic and think the worst!! At this point, I was wasting valuable time, someone could already have her and be getting away (so many horrible thoughts ran through my mind). I ran back to the front where I found an employee, I was so scared I'm surprised I could even speak. But I told him exactly what happened and that I could not find my daughter (of course I start to cry at this point). The young gentleman was very calm and jumped right into action. He immediately got on his walkie talkie and communicated to all employees what was going on. They had an employee at all entrances and had me give them a description so they could find her. (I'm assuming they were checking all cameras as well). Right then is when I hear my daughter call out "mom" and then I cried even more with relief. She didn't realize I left my phone in my purse and was texting me asking if I was ok. Once she realized she had my phone, she went looking for me and was scared something had happened to me as well. It was a mess, lesson definitely learned (she will not leave my side again lol). I was so overwhelmed and it was all so quick and crazy that I did not get to tell the young man thank you!! This is one of the nicest Targets I've been too, catering to the neighborhood it is in. Above average friendliness of staff and some higher end items to select from in the grocery area compared to other locations I've visited. Have witnessed a staff member go outside with an elderly couple to assist them with getting their items into their car. I had a good experience with the Customer Service department one time. I wanted an electronic device that had gone on sale at a handful of retailers but was sold out locally. This Target had the item at a little more than 2x the price I was after... But after a few minutes to confirm, they matched the pricing of their competitors and were very friendly. Not 5 stars for one important reason. Went recently to buy an inexpensive white button down shirt for a new restaurant job. Have done the same in the past at a different Target. Only had one option and one shirt in my size, but none of these white button downs were in protective plastic and they all appeared to have some blemishes or stains due to this. Also, they were not as affordable as I had experienced in other locations. So I understand this could be an isolated situation or just related to this particular item and that their selection did not fulfil MY needs.
