AutoZone Auto Parts — Local services in Forest Hills

Came in with battery issues, needed to get it tested and knew I'd probably need a new one. These folks were very helpful every step of the way. Anthony in particular really knows his stuff.

Turned out the battery was bad, and after I bought the new one they installed it no extra charge and took the old one off my hands. They tested the starter and alternator and gave it a shot of starter fluid to clear up the odd noises. Now my car starts normally and the check engine light is off.

I'm aware much of this is pretty standard for auto parts stores, but having someone on the staff who's super knowledgeable about vehicle maintenance and can tell you how to check and troubleshoot issues yourself in the future is a huge plus. It is in a weird area but AutoZone is my go to for auto stuff and parts. I hate to go elsewhere. This is the closest location to where I live.

Who ever close on 003/03/2025 was beyond rude. They said they could not help me and they wanted me to leave when they helped two other people in the parking lot as I watched her close the store. I honestly think she should not be in customer service if she doesn't want to help people. I had gotten their right off my own job to go there and they couldn't even help me, and it was appalling for her to say that she couldn't help me when I saw walk out and help someone else right after that as I sat in the parking lot and watched. I’ve been here several times over the years and can’t recall ever having a bad visit. The employees here are always helpful but a recent visit really stood out for me.

I stopped by because the headlights on my car burned out for the third time or so in a year. On his suggestion, Jonathan went out to my car and made sure I got the right bulbs (I got the high and low beam bulbs mixed up and would have bought the wrong ones). I told Jonathan I could put them in myself but he insisting on coming out to my car a second time and installing them for me. Things like that will keep me coming back to this location over stores.
