first i will say that the help that they provide for the community is amazing....but there communication and professionalism is some things they need to improve on....my friend and i went there for her utility appointment and we walked in the lady at the front demeanor wasnt at all positive she was very aggressive and rude..(it was an older lady)once she directed us to the back by telling us and pointing not escorting us (seemed like she didnt wanna be bothered) we got to the back it was another older lady taking names for walkins and appointments (she was very polite and professional) we sat down didnt wait long (that was a plus) once we got called to the office to be seen(the lady that called and directed was nice also) we sat down the older lady very stern and cold asked for the documents then told us to sit down...she went threw all the paper work and told me and i quote (dont give us more than what we ask for because its to many papers) said it in a very rude voice..then went on to going threw the paperwork wasnt talking nor explaining/informing us of what was going on...literally sat in silence...then a coworker came into the hallway to talk about/make jokes about another person that came in seeking help and the older lady started to make racial comments and i quote (black people have a welfare mentality) (black people dont understand that somtimes the answer to there questions is just NO! they just dont get it!) and she said to us that this program is like a gift (its not welfare, black people have a habit of thinking everything is welfare this isnt welfare is not qualifications u just gotta bring what we ask and be within a certain income braket for your household...looooong story short it was alot of very negative, racial comments that was demeaning be made and it wasnt called for..us being persons of color hearing how we are being racially profiled is degrading and humiliating and disgusting...yall have got to do better...this is...
Read moreThe efforts received by the Clayton County Community Services has been helpful, kind, fast and informative. It was business in a relaxed, orderly, simple and fast paced environment. I worked with Ms. B. Chestnut in this experience. Ms. B. Chestnut provided a real-time, professional, open and relatable communication in her engagements. She was upbeat, relaxed and excited to assist. Ms. Chestnut exceeded my initial expectations of a long, out dated process and eased the outlook of possible grouchy, overwhelmingly stressed staff. Ms. Chestnut answered questions with explanation, asked consent before processing, gave a listening ear to relevant concerns, and showed how she really enjoys her job working with the public to help in effective and efficient ways. I am glad to have had this experience and to be able to receive dedicated, reliable relationships, resources, support and guidance from a reputable source. The staff at Clayton County Community Services were all so kind, with patience, smiles and very friendly deminors. If you have a problem here, then maybe you are the issue. Come prepared, be on-time, be nice, be positive and enjoy the moment. Spaces can be limited for resources so take actions accordingly to increase your chances of success. Me knowing that avenues are available in support to numerious counties and the persons here working at CCCS are genuinely interested with a willingness to improve services, limit drama and honor the opportunity, brought value to the dynamics of a wonderful experiences had. Thank you Ms. B. Chestnut for being available to help clients and staff alike, timely! Keep up the good work CCCS. Thanks for all you do! The community is greatly appreciative and thankful for your time and consideration in...
Read moreI would just like to stop in my footsteps and leave an accommodating review, as I'm grateful for one of the supervisors stopping in their footsteps with flexibility in accommodating my request.
Now I must say I've lived in Clayton county almost all of my life, 30 plus years. After the pandemic it got a little haywire and unorganized at the local office but when I say there's a small team of silent angels who have been on the roster for years who are doing their diligence to the community, overextending care, concern and time to help the program run as smoothly as possibe, I really mean it!!!!
Being a single special need mother to of two medically fragile, terminally ill and completely disabled, homebound children the application process has always been very accommodating **(HOMEBOUND clients) but as we know every year rules and regulations change and we must be patient with the new process.
After Overhearing the frustration from a few (new and old clients) standing in line I had to throw in my two panties *(my opinion, that is, lol)..... By time I was done explaining a little economics and how our local community action agencies in Clayton county work I think I put a few people at ease....
Ms Chestnut is one of the employees that I know goes well above and beyond her profession. She is sassy & sweet but very professional & stick to rules at all times. Thanks for extending your help with my registration process for I greatly appreciate your time and effort. If You come in for services calm, cool and with a little sympathy for the dedicated workers over there I promise it'll make the process much easier for you and future clients.
Thanks again CSA*
