Alpine Arts- The Colorado Showcase — Local services in Fort Collins

I REALLY wanted to give this store a better review. The store itself is SO awesome. Great Colorado gifts. Seems like they support local artisans, which was a question I had but didn’t make it to questions about the store or its products because the woman (5’6” ish, dark hair, little over middle aged) “helping” me didn’t really seem like she wanted to help. I went in for some Cotney Peak soap. One of my customers makes it and I wanted to grab some and they made the suggestion of grabbing it here. The woman was very rude and seemed annoyed when I asked if there were more scents available. Because of that my questions stopped there. I really wanted to know more about where the products in the store come from as I try to support local WHENEVER possible. I tried engaging as I was checking out, but having a conversation with the other employee in the store was the focus. Ignoring me and making an awkward situation more awkward and unwelcoming was the take away. Unfortunate, but there are PLENTY of other amazing shops in Old Town that make up for it. Otherwise, adorable shop with unwelcoming vibes is how I’d describe the experience...

I adore this store. The variety of local art, jewelry, clothing, and other collectibles are outstanding. I come here every year to purchase gifts for my out-of-state family members, which are always well received. I was helped this past week while buying four Aspen leaf ornaments coated in metal by a young woman in a plaid trench coat and short brown hair. She was genuine and fun to have a conversation with. She heard me when I told her I was buying them as a gift and offered to include informational pamphlets from the artist and gift boxes. She took extreme care in wrapping and boxing them up while continuing to drum up conversation casually instead of an awkward silence. There was a bit of a line behind me, so another member of the staff came over to assist... hastily. I can understand wanting the line to move quicker, but her anxiety and sense of urgency made me feel awkward because her frantic frustration was visible to everyone, including the cashier that I mentioned above (who was amazing). All in all, I love this little place and will always stop in while...

What a great shop! We loved the selection in this store and had to pick up a couple of mugs along with some treats. And—we almost loaded up on some unique, rustic Christmas ornaments too! We always look for fun places to shop when we have company in town and this is our new favorite to show off to friends and family from out of town. Everyone working there was amazing too. Friendly, kind, helpful. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a relaxed shopping stop in Old Town...
