Edit to respond to owners misleading statement: To clarify, I was loading a delivery for another business, which is why I asked if I could use the loading zone, which you would've known if you had let me finish my sentence. I was not angry that I was told not to park there. I was upset with your angry, rude, and condescending attitude, along with being interrupted multiple times while I was asking if it was ok to use the loading zone to load a delivery for another business. If I sound like I'm repeating myself, it's because you are intentionally leaving that part out to make yourself look better. The space does not state that it is specifically for Walrus, which is why I came in to ask if it was ok. I was polite when I came in and was not hostile to your employees. The only hostile person during the incident was you, the owner, which is shameful. Apologies for having the audacity to be polite and ask a simple yes or no question.
This does have to do with Walrus Ice cream. I have asked this question with many other restaurants and accept when they say no, but they also are polite and understanding. That was not the case with you. There was zero reason to be as hostile as you were. I was polite enough to ask if I could park there to load my car. This review has to do with customer service and professionalism.
I even came in as a potential customer to buy myself a treat for the long day, regardless of if I could park there. I was only annoyed at the very rude attitude shown towards me. If I had been shown an ounce of respect, and was simply told, "sorry, but no" I would not have left this review. Instead the manager was very hostile towards me. That is unacceptable to me, thus I did not buy anything. I do not want to support a business with an owner that rude.
Since the owner says this isn't relevant, to add, their ice cream is overrated. You can get better ice cream for cheaper at a grocery store or even coldstone's (which is just as good and better customer service). Definitely overhyped just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I will NOT be returning! I have never walked into a ice cream store and turned away so disrespected by the people/children taking my order. I mean it, they were kids. The only thing good was I believe the young lady named Sierra. I could be wrong about her name but I believe it was that. She was very well mannered with my wife and two youngest children but the little child like punk who took me and my oldest sons order was RUDE! I don't know his name but it was a little high school boy with short blonde hair.
He wasn't happy that I was forth behind my wife who was asking to sample things and he needed to know "right now" what i wanted with my order because he couldn't wait. As I asked to sample a second flavor after my 1st and only sample of the berry flavor he rolled his eyes, made a mean face and blew his breath out in displeasure. He was mad because when we came in there was no line but 2-3 minutes in the shop people came in behind us and now there was a line. I think he wasn't happy we wanted try a few flavors. It was our FIRST TIME THERE! We wanted to know what was good because it ISN'T CHEAP there. To top it off the little guy only filled my cone to just below the waffle cone top. I was so mad! He did the same to my oldest and my poor boy didn't even take long or sample one thing!
I hope this helps people understand who they could be dealing with and that they might find other ice cream shops around the area could and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is where real ice ream lives. Memorize the address in case you ever need to send ice cream a letter. Just make it to "Deliciousness C/O Walrus" and it should work.
One thing about Walrus that makes it so unique is the constantly changing array of flavors. The flavor board is filled with something like 16 flavors at all times, not counting the sorbets and such. Some of them hang on for a while, like Swiss Dark Chocolate, and most cycle in and out. It's truly challenging to come in and say that none of it appeals.
The helpful and friendly staff will offer tastes of anything you'd like to help you find what suits you. If you don't want to eat the ice cream straight, they can add toppings or mix-ins or just make it a milkshake for you.
They'll accept call-ahead orders as well, a truly useful option for people in a rush. The shop itself has comfortable seating and games galore, including a giant version of Connect-4. Oh, and did I mention they have their own ghost?
It's pricey for ice cream, but not terribly so and the flavor is well worth it. I recommend them to anyone who doesn't have a terrible dairy allergy.
Also, if you're feeling adventurous, they maintain a Joke Flavor. You have to take a taste before they'll tell you what's in it. It's always always interesting and entirely awful. It's great fun if...
