I have never left a poor review for a business before, but my experiences on multiple occasions have warranted this. Read the reviews before mine and you will get the general idea. Take note of the very poor reviews because they are accurate.
I am a sales professional and have spent thousands on clothing over the years, as appearance is a critical aspect of my career. With this said, the clothing I bring to consignment stores is of high quality, brand name, and usually in "like new" condition. I was offered $20 for the same year labels that as a whole I spent over $500 for within the last few months (Marmot, REI, Liz Claiborne, Express, Limited, Eddie Bauer, etc.) The first time they didn't buy anything and in the most condescending manner I was asked if I have ever sold there before and what is to be expected. I thought it was because my clothes were not as presentable as they should be when trying to sell and I completely understood that, so I took care of it. Washed everything, even pressed my slacks that have never been worn, and lint rolled every piece. To no avail. They told me they couldn't take brand 2017 slacks because they had stains on them. That's okay if you don't want to buy my stuff -- just be up front about it.
The worst part of this was how unabashedly rude the staff has been on each account. I understand an off day for folks, I'm in sales, it is natural, it happens. But, after multiple occasions, the tone of this store is the same. Rude and unwelcoming. Very unfortunate because in theory this store is a fantastic idea.
Do yourself a favor and stick with the well-run local consignment stores to bring your quality clothing to sell. Even if they don't buy your clothes, at least you will be treated in a way that promotes business and more importantly makes you want to return. I will not be returning and I will be making it a point to refer my friends and family elsewhere. Very...
Read moreCame in on a Sunday, fairly busy. Spent an hour rummaging through the racks. Had several items picked out to try on. Probably about 30 items. The dressing rooms were full and the associate did not know who was coming or going. So I decided instead of waiting in the line, I would go next door to shop a little and come back when the rooms were cleared out a little. I went up to the associate and asked her to hold the items I so diligently picked out to try on. She said "oh no problem" I told her I would be back in about a half hour to an hour, she again told me she would hold them for me and it would not be a problem. I come back after going next door and checked in again, still full. So I let her know I would be back right before they closed and to keep the clothes for me I would be back again was reassured it would be no problem. I was gone about 30 minutes and came back only to find the clothes I had put on hold were in other peoples carts and put back on the shelf. There on the rack were about five items remaining from the original items I had on "hold". TALK ABOUT A WASTE OF TIME!!!! FRUSTRATING!!! to say the least. I called the manager and no accountability...she just made excuses that they were busy and thats just how it goes sometimes if you can't handle your store when it is busy you don't deserve the business. I wont be back anytime soon!!! selling clothes out from under me...the customer service was appalling....apparently customer service is not a word that this...
Read moreWhat in interesting place. I have taken clothes there several times. Most of my shopping is JCrew, Anthroplogie, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Tory Burch, boutiques, etc. Mostly shopping at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale, AZ. where I lived for 15 years. Some online shopping from these places. I'm always entertained by what they think is current and on trend, or high end. They passed up new JCrew jeans never worn but laundered and fresh, Donald Pliner black strappy heals (hand made in Spain), Tory Burch Espadrilles like new (not a great shoe for me with a higher arch). I asked out of curiosity why they weren't interested in my clothing for future reference, I don't want to bring them clothing they will always turn down. They told me they don't take anything worn looking, and if it's distressed it needs to be intentional. As they are telling me this, I look over and see a really unfortunate looking pair of jeans hanging on an end rack. I got home and took my clothes out of my basket and saw my favorite Lucky boot cut jeans with intentional but slight distressing, and boy was I glad they didn't want them! I paid about $160 for them at the Lucky Store in Scottsdale, and they were not supposed to be in that basket! Whew! Anyhow, they determine what they want, but I question their taste. I haven't seen anything in the store I would purchase, as most of it looks pretty worn. read less Kelly A.'s...
