Staples — Local services in Fort Gratiot Charter Township

My displeasure here isn't the company. It's with the unfortunate encounter I had with the employee that needs to learn proper customer service. When asked if a certain product was in stock, I was told no, with him then proceeding to just stare at me blankly. Then I asked if he knew what product I was referring to, he said "I don't know", again followed by a clueless stare. After describing the item, I was rudely given an aisle number to go look. When I returned from looking, I showed the employee the item from the Staples website on my phone. Again, when asked if they carried these or if they have to be ordered, I was told "no", followed by another long blank stare. This stare was long and awkward every time, finally resulting in me advising him to next time at least offer to order for me and to learn customer service. I then asked to speak with a manager, for whatever that was worth. I don't enjoy dealing with mindless, disrespectful little mouth breathers that offer no help whatsoever. You work with the public. If you can't handle your little retail job you'll never be able to move out of you parent's home and function in society. Workers do the best they can with what hours and resources they’re given. They’re usually very kind unless someone is treating them poorly. Customers are usually insanely rude and entitled towards them in this store and instead of attempting to try to use self serve or find things on their own they pester the workers and claim they’re doing nothing. This store might not be the best but the 1-star reviews are mostly from lazy people that expect minimum wage workers (who are already given way too many tasks to begin with as per usual with retail) to bend over for their every need instead of taking a minute to use their own...

Absolutely rude general manager. Questioned me like I was a idiot for trying walk to a counter they used to use for Amazon returns, I hadn't been in the store for a few months. I need some business supplies after that returned but I'll shop somewhere else after that. When I get done returning the item with him he states "stay alive" I'm a firefighter and that's something I try to do everyday but keeping everyone else alive comes first.
