As someone who is offering to sell my items at this “luxury” consignment store (which I didn’t have to, could’ve went with a different company), which they sold all of our top dollar items and they receive 50% of the proceeds, which is great- win-win. Happy with that part.
My problem here is with Marlene Burc, I believe that is how you spell her name, who I just spoke to on the phone regarding our check for this month gave me the run around and told me this and that and that I need to read the contract. Initially I asked nicely where our check was because the first check I was told to come into the store to pick it up.
When I left the store the first time i believe was around 10/22. I was TOLD to come back again into the store to pick up the second check (an older lady dismissively told me this) which I did this past Saturday 11/19/22. I was then told by another associate that since I live 20+miles away the check was mailed. Please train your associates the protocol when telling your clients the correct information. I drove 45 minutes one way just to be told the check was being mailed instead of me needing to pick it up. Marlene was being very rude on the phone and needs to learn how to listen to the client and their concerns before telling them what they need to do and also saying “she’s not trying to argue” (when she clearly was arguing). I don’t need you to tell me what to do. All I asked is where our check was since your associates don’t even know your own protocol as to how checks are picked up/mailed.
I definitely won’t be using your services ever again, nor will I recommend or refer anyone to your store because of Marlene’s attitude. Learn to be nice when you speak to people, especially the people who are selling their personal items at your store. If that’s “luxury” service , you need to re train your associates....
Read moreBased on the reviews previously posted, it may be a good place for buyers. However that is certainly not the case if you are a seller! Just the worst place you can choose for consignment.
Once they get your items there is no follow-up. Two expensive pieces delivered March 2024. In October my wife finally was able to leave the hospital where she works earlier and check what happened.
One piece they claimed was sold in July but they can only cut the $315.90 check in November 15! For a piece that 4 years ago was purchased for $2280.00…And they don’t mail checks!!! One has to pick it up Even the IRS mails checks….And checks are valid for 1 year, by regulation!
The second piece , according to Encore “expired the consignment time” and was donated. But they do not present any proof of it or give you a receipt or even tell you who they donated to… Why?
Any question or argument is promptly answered with a rude tone and always with the same argument: “you should have read the contract” !!!
In summary, if you are looking for lack of professionalism, civility and questionable business approach and transparency, this is the perfect place to consign your expensive items !!
Donate to Salvation Army and deduct it from your taxes. At least you will not...
Read moreI have been searching for accent chairs for over a year. Retail stores just didn't have what I wanted or caught my eye. I drove pass this place once and reminded myself to check it out. Because I realized that if retail stores didn't have a chair I like maybe an antique or consignment store will. And as luck would have it. I came across these two beauties. And snatched them up🤗🤗. This place has some beautiful pieces of furniture and knick knacks. Furniture that predates me and looks like great quality. I'm in love with my chairs. And the sales person Arthur was so nice and friendly. He allowed me to browse around without breathing down my neck. He explained the pricing and gave me space to relish in the beautiful pieces through out the store and there are many. You really have to take your time in here because you could miss something spectacular. The vases, beds, sofas, chairs, rugs, wall decor you name it. So glad I found this place that's not hidden at all. I recommend stopping by... you will be surprised and glad...
