Buyer Beware: Misleading Sales and Poor Conduct
I shopped here on a Saturday evening with two friends after sales staff told us the store was having a 50% off sale. During our visit, the associates kept pushing more clothes into our fitting rooms that we hadn’t asked for, and we kindly obliged to try them on. Some of the staff were very sweet and others were a bit pushy.
At checkout, the total was much higher than expected. When I questioned it, the associate said not everything was part of the 50% off sale, which all 3 of us conferred later and believed to be true, but I still went through with the purchase. Later upon inspecting my purchases, I discovered I had been charged for and received a skirt I specifically told the sales associate I did not want. I went back the next day to attempt to resolve, only to be told they had a no refund, exchange-only policy, which I later noticed was posted high above the register, out of clear view, seemingly intentionally placed in hindsight.
I explained that I was flying out Monday and needed the issue resolved, but was told to call the manager then because today was Shabbat. When I reached her, who upon researching the business prior to contacting the number the staff proved, and turned out to be the owner, she cut me off repeatedly, was rude and dismissive. I requested an exception since the mistake was on both sides, but she refused, saying her system “could not process refunds.” That claim is false. Any business accepting credit cards has the ability to process a return for errors or overcharges.
When I pointed the fact that we both knew she was the owner after she stated she could not make those decisions without contacting her office, she became defensive and insulting saying, “Did we think we were shopping at a flea market?” and hung up. Considering we were misled to believe the entire store was 50% off and the “Made in Italy” clothing is thin, lightweight, and overpriced, the remark was both unprofessional and ironic.
Misleading sales tactics, poor ethics, and lack of accountability define this place. Buyers should proceed...
Read moreTerrible customer service!! So uncaring!! I bought several items of clothing at this store and on my walk home, I stopped into a store 2 blocks away on Las Olas to find the exact same jacket I purchased at White Mykonos was almost $10-$20 cheaper! I took a picture of the jacket and immediately returned to White Mykonos requesting compensation. The clerk said she had to call the owner. The owner flatly refused to refund my purchase or extend the discount! This was literally 10 minutes after my purchase! Just want you to know to check prices of other boutiques on Las Olas. There is a huge difference in Pricing! I was very disappointed that the owner was so uncaring, especially to someone who lives on Las Olas!! She offered to sell me another jacket a the lower price! To make matters even worse, I noticed the jacket I purchased at White Mykonos has the label removed! Such bad customer service! I will never shop...
Read moreI visited this store with my friend who was looking for a cardigan. She browsed the sale items and chose two. At the register, the employee rudely told her that she did not believe that one of the sweaters was actually on the sale rack. My friend was offended but bought the sweaters anyway. After she left, she discovered the sweater had a large area cut from the back of it. Poor customer service and unacceptable to sell such a...
