I am only giving 4 stars for the bakery goods which are to die for. Some of the things are absolutely delicious. I don't care for everything especially the service and the little lady who seems to be the mgr. NOT a nice person to me! Always seems to have an arrogant attitude like you used to get in a French restaurant years ago. Like she was doing me the favor to separate me from my hard earned money. Went in there this morning at 8:30 to get something I love and was told it was in the oven and didn't know when it would be ready. Well I bake and that is pretty much not true. I spent $30 for a few items I mean a few went back later and spent $11 more for 2 pizza slices. It's just delicious. It's expensive. Bought 1 lb. of asst. cookies a piece of quiche (tomato & bacon) delicious & some kind of stuffed piece of pizza for my friend also delicious. I was disappointed about no sfogliatelle though. They are scrumptious. One of the best things I have eaten in my 65 years as a resident of this planet. So I went back after going to the beach for a few hours at 10:30 and was then told we don't have that today. I said really? Why did you tell me they were in the oven? Just to get me out of you face? They even know I go there there most days in my electric chair because I am disabled. Mgr. lady doesn't even say sorry for your trouble nada, nothing. Just like too bad so sad MF'er. Come here pay our ridiculous prices and get treated like crap. Not my style. I don't expect much these days but my goodness is there no accountability just because you run an upper class bakery on Las Olas? I got treated better in Publix on Andrews ave. yesterday. Yes I will go back but don't think I will leave anything in their tip bucket. TIP also means courteous & thoughtful. They have never been that but today was over the top. And I am pissed I didn't get my...
Read moreThere are many criteria to judge a restaurant or a bakery. One of them is quality Customer service. I had a slight issue with an item I purchased from Gran Forno Bakery on East Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. What my issue was is not important. What is important was how my issue was resolved.
Let me first state for the record, I love Gran Frono bread! The olive bread, sour dough, ciabatta, walnut raison, you name it and I love it. I have been a Customer since I moved to the area 7 years ago. When I emailed Gran Forno with my issue, Marieta Sarafova, Gran Forno Manager, responded with empathy and concern that my recent experience was not up to their standards. Ms. Sarafova offered me a number of options I could choose from to make up for my disappointing experience.
I went into the bakery today with a printout of my email from Ms. Sarafova and Gran Frono Bakery went above and beyond what was offered as recompense.
Every Restaurant or Bakery will at some time flub something up. However, it is how they react to the situation the either makes them shine or be tossed to the curb like yesterday’s stale bread!
Gran Frono Bakery shines brightly with their great Customer Service! They’ve made a long-term...
Read moreWe have been good clients of Gran Forno since it opened so many years ago. And with Leone and his wife making this fine bakery only better as the years go by, it is always a pleasure to pop in every week for our needs. We buy fresh ciabattine or rosette and freeze them in ziplock bags. Then as we need, thaw them out and they are as fresh as they were just baked. Delicious!
But this bakery is so much more... As a new patron, you will be enticed by the wonderful aroma emanating from the kitchen from blocks away, as you stroll down Las Olas Blvd or drive by with your windows open. You should follow the invitation with your nose, because the selection of outstanding breads, fresh paninis, fresh pizzas and delectable pastries, as well as aromatic espressos, will reward your palate in more ways than one.
Inviting and spotless, with great atmosphere both indoor and with umbrella covered street side seating, the friendly and smiling staff eager to take your order. And the food? Tutto buonissimo! You will not be disappointed :)
Visit where the locals go... And if you're local, don't miss making Gran Forno your...
