I tried to buy a bottle of liquor here and had a major problem. I tried to pay cash with an old $50 bill for $21 purchase and the cashier refused my bill. I said its just old and MADE him use a counterfeit detector which showed it was real. He said NO I’m not going to take it. So I took my last $20 & a $5 bill out to pay and guess what? He had no ones for change and just a few quarters!!! After looking everywhere for change he could find nothing. So then I pull out a credit card and he goes haywire. (All this is taking place while the customer line has increased to 5 or 6) He says his register will not work for credit cards once rung up for cash. I tell him to void out the transaction where he can charge me 3% more for a penalty for a credit card because he wouldn’t take my $50 bill or have any change for a $5 bill. He sits their speechless for a minute or 2 while the customer line grows longer!! I finally ask the next customer if they were paying cash and had $1 bills. The next customer complied and problem solved. So don’t shop here unless you have new bills and exact change. I won’t be back. My partner came here two days ago and asked the clerk to pick his liquor of choice out so he could try something new. After drinking a terrible shot we come to find it’s expired by a year. That is just awful business practice and trust and believe we won’t be coming back. TERRIBLE business practice—you should be ashamed. Response to owner: it said Oct 2021 on the bottle. sure you can say that alcohol does not expire and it’ll only make your stomach hurt, but for you to specifically suggest a bottle that you most likely knew, expired due to expiration date last year is bad practice in business a good business would try to solve it, not act smart about it. Amazing selection of liquors, especially higher shelf items that are usually hard to find in other stores. Barton was super helpful in finding exactly what I was looking for and very friendly. Prices are entirely reasonable and the vibes are 100%. Highly recommend. This might be the only ABC store that I go to from now on since they have good inventory and service that I can count on.
