Although the donuts are delicious, being able to get some will require great patience and a lot of time. Don't go here if you're looking to grab a quick donut, coffee, it breakfast sandwich. You'll need at least 20-30 minutes to at least have the chance of being served.
This is based on my 3 experiences from their first week being open. I get that it takes time to anticipate rhythms, so I really hope that they turn it around soon.
1.) I can echo the other comments that say that their hours on Google maps does not reflect what is actually happening. If you are planning to come near the end of the day, just make sure that you call in advance to see if they are still open.
2.) I just went in at 704 a.m. to try to buy donuts and coffee for our family, 4 min after they opened and they already had a line to the door. At about 7:10 they finished bringing the remaining ingredients from the back of the room to the front of house. I could be wrong, but it appeared that they were not ready with all the ingredients and supplies by the time that they opened at 7:00 a.m. At 7:14 a.m., the first batch of donuts finished in the fryer for them to begin making the four plus orders that were already in at this point.
I had to walk out. Not enough time to stick around while the 4 plus people ahead of me waited to order,. I do hope they get better at being 100% ready before open at 7:00 .m. for people who are trying to come in quickly before going to work.
Based on the one time I was able to actually get a donut, I plan to give it another chance in a few weeks after they have had some time to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a fan of Duck Donuts, as I have tried other locations. I was excited to see one coming to Ft. Mill. Well my 1st experience was less than satisfactory. I was at the door at 5:50 pm on 1/27 & the door was locked. I pulled the door & yes very locked but the internet hours say store is open. I can see staff in store & staff can see me, but no movement to address me or even a mouthing or hand signs "saying sorry we're closed". I sat to sulk a bit and watched other people come behind me BUT, they were greeted. They were not let in but obviously communicated with. I found this disturbing because no one came to the door for me and I was there just moments b4 the guest that were greeted. I hope this is isolated & not a example of the customer service to be rendered at this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in the neighborhood and have seen Duck Donuts on numerous occasions but never stopped by until recently. I read the reviews and they were less than stellar but I decided to give them a try. As others have said, the customer service is lacking, slow, unbothered and uninterested.
I ordered the Chocolate Caramel Crunch and Maple Bacon flavors; they were decent but for the price, lack of customer service, it's not worth it for me. There are other locations around the Charlotte area that have good reviews but I'm good.
The atmosphere and decor are nice however and seem to be a bright spot for Duck Donuts. On the flip side, the shop is rather small so you're not able to sit down and really be comfortable. It's a...
