I had a very frustrating experience at the Smoothie King in Fort Mill. I ordered a Power Meal Slim smoothie with added peanut butter and a Chocolate Yogurt Delight with added protein. A young man named Nate made both smoothies, and I paid using $12 in rewards and some cash.
When I got to my car and tasted the Power Meal Slim, it was completely off—it tasted like watered-down chocolate and nothing else. I went back inside and asked for it to be remade. That’s when a second employee named Jordan, who claimed to be the manager, told me that even if he remade it, it would probably taste the same. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional.
I told him I’d return both smoothies and wanted a refund. He said he could only give me a partial refund for the cash portion and not for the $12 I used in rewards—saying it wasn’t “real money.” When I asked for another manager or the owner, he said no one else was available and that the owner (Rhonda) wasn’t present. After helping other customers, he eventually refunded the cash portion. Nate then explained the smoothie may have had too much ice and that I could try calling HR to possibly get my rewards returned—no guarantees.
To make matters worse, I later went back in to ask for my receipt, and Jordan ignored me completely. I had to ask Nate, the original smoothie maker, who kindly helped me again.
At the end of the day:
The smoothie was poorly made.
The manager refused to remake it or provide a full refund.
I was told my $12 in rewards wasn’t real money and couldn’t be refunded.
I was ignored when asking for a receipt, and had to rely on a more respectful employee to assist me.
I’m now out of $12 in rewards, with nothing to show for it.
This experience was unacceptable. I’ve been a loyal customer, but I won’t be returning to this location unless serious changes are made in how management handles customers...
Read moreI ordered 2 smoothies from this location on 10/15/24. One of the smoothies I ordered for my mom was a passion passport but it didn’t taste right, it tasted like a plain banana smoothie. She agreed as well and I asked can they remake it. The manager Clay came out and said that’s what the ingredients are bananas, sugar, and some juice I don’t remember. He said that it will taste the same I asked even if they could do less banana in it so it wouldn’t have a straight distinctive banana taste but he was like it be will the same nothing he can do. I left out the store said that’s ok because I didn’t want the same tasting smoothie. I’ve been going to smoothie king for many years ordering the same type of smoothies so I know if something doesn’t taste the same. I know many locations vary in how the consistency of a smoothie can taste but they pretty much taste the same. My mom just wanted to get a refund and that’s when Clay refused to give her money back or remake the smoothie. He said he wasn’t going to deal with it and had gotten a nasty attitude with her in front of other patrons in the store and walked away. We wanted the number for the district manager but he wouldn’t give out any pertinent information. I then called another smoothie king location in Rock Hill to see if I can get any information. The traveling manager there named Manny was extremely helpful. He didn’t have the district manager information but called the smoothie king in Fort Mill to speak with Clay to see what was going on which resulted in me receiving my refund back. The other 2 gentleman working in the store was very nice but the situation with the manager was unprofessional and uncalled for. I refuse to patronize any other smoothie king location after this incident. I won’t tolerant disrespect, racism or someone refusing to give me...
Read moreI hope this is seen by all and I am.not looking for anything other than fair treatment. If an employee mishears a customer about an order, is it so much to ask to get clarification and even accept payment towards another correctly made drinks (which was not only not made correctly but made worse, no sweetener must mean double). Instead they are taught to get mouthy, disrespectful and hide in the back along with bystanders who have no part of the situation. On top of getting surprised that a customer would be extremely upset that this specific location is stealing in the sense that they double charging for a whole secondary smoothie that the employee failed to make correctly. So to finish it all, they are taught to request the specific customer who only got upset because of a failure on smoothie King, to not return due to the customers actions, failing to account for their employees. This will placed anywhere I can review this location. This is unacceptable and I will be sure that since they're sure to hide this.
I look forward to hearing from someone soon. We need an adult...
