Went in about a week ago and inquired about selling a few very rare CIB games (which I did not have with me.) Employee was very nice and accommodating and gave a lot of helpful info, including what I would receive upon selling. He also advised that I might talk to the owner on a specified day if I were going to sell more. Very positive interaction.
Returned a few days later---today---with one of the games. Employee was a different one. He took it, gave it a cursory glance and barely checked the contents---didn't even check to see if the original poster was with it. The poster itself is a VERY rare item and I volunteered that the poster was included. He didn't seem to care. After checking the computer, he asked me, "What are you expecting to get for this?"
I was more than a little surprised. For him to not inspect the game thoroughly (or even test that it worked) and to ask "what I expected," rather than volunteer what the normal cash purchase was for such an item, he asked the question as if it were a pawn shop. That alone told me that if he could have gotten the game for less than what they NORMALLY give, he would have. Red flag #1.
I told him that I was told that cash value was half the retail price. After giving that information, he declined to buy, stating that he "didn't have that much cash in the register" and to buy the game would "limit his buying power" with the holidays coming up. He suggested I "return after the holidays" when he "had more money." Red flag #2.
He never suggested I return to speak with the owner. Instead, he seemed uninterested and willing to push it off.
I own about a thousand retro CIB games and systems ranging from the Magnavox Odyssey to the SNES and was hoping to find someone else I could deal with on a regular basis. I don't expect someone to buy everything I offer, but to treat such a rare game so casually and to withold information during the deal left a very bad taste in my mouth. I have other folks looking at my...

Read moreAwesome little shop! Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable! If you're looking for something specific and they have it, you're set. But if you're looking for something specific and they don't have it, they'll take down your name, number, and what you're looking for and text you if they get it. They have tons of games from just about every old console system you can imagine from PS4 and XBox all the way back to Atari 2600! They've got over a wall of Funko Pops! There's a section of just about every retro pop culture toy you could want from GIJoe and Transformers to TMNT and Star Wars. I was able to complete my Funko Pop collection of Office Space figures there when I found an old Gamestop exclusive figure, and it was reasonably priced! I have yet to sell anything there, but they offer store credit and trades. Make it a point to go at least weekly because they are always buying, selling, and trading! (And there's a convenient LEGO store, a comic shop/RPG/board game shop, and a HalfPriceBooks all in the same shopping center!) Great spot!...
