Came here late yesterday 5.18.24 for lunch with my Mom and the food was HORRIBLE. The chicken fried steak was OVERbreaded with some old style flour and undercooked ( white....not crispy and browned) MUSHY and SOGGY on the inside and the outside batter was WHITE, STALE and flavorless. The breaded portion was not anywhere near proportioned to the chopped steak inside as the patty was SUPER tiny ( like a small kids hamburger patty from McDonald's..thin and flappy)....it was freshly prepared but not worth serving. The mashed potatoes were one step from being soupy AND there were also bites of uncooked potatoe. The one thing that stood out was that for $15(14.95) the portion of potatoes were a measley 2 tablespoons...in comparison to the subpar over breaded steak. I advised the waitress that i was still hungry and she could see thay I didn't eat much because most of it was all bread and the green beans were SO hot i couldn't eat them with my "4 bites" of chicken fried steak because they literally BURNED my mouth......Way TOO DAMNED HOT. Our waitress was verbally combative and attacked us for not agreeing to accept her offer of ONLY a HALF of a chicken fried steak to compensate for the lousy food....with nothing else served. I told her no and she continued to fuss and say the owner died and how dare we complain and write a review based on one bad meal. Mom had porkchops (2) and they were flavorless and she stated that it tasted like the porkchop was boiled before being battered as it was TOUGH and un seasoned. She left it there. This place ain't winning no awards anytime soon and I would not suggest coming here...especially with the over tanned, semi- burned face waitress who forgot to take her...

This was my first and last time going to this place the manager is very rude everything was dirty the restaurant itself smelled damp very Dungy service is not professional at all our food paste it a bit spoiled and had a bad odor to it I approached the manager privately while paying discussing the issues my husband and I didn't even eat our food I was willing to pay for my children's plates because there was nothing wrong with them but our dishes was disgusting manager was using vulgar language I guess they need every penny they could get claiming they get 400 customers per day but then again there was only three people in there and even the elder people that was there was complaining about their steak how could this lady say that she heard my husband quote on quote bi@@hing is that how they treat customers when they have a complaint but like I said she needs every penny she can get to keep this place up and running somewhat next time you should have some more courtesy for your customers and maybe you will have more business clean the place up take the order away get some new dishes and a new cook and I promise you your business will be way better I will be contacting a corporate if there is one do not waste your time and go hear you're better off going to McDonald's they will serve you treat you and give you...

I was very disappointed after having been looking forward to eating here for months now. When we asked for a booth they acted like it was a problem. The lighting was so dark I could hardly see the menu and I’m in my 20,s. I ordered the pot roast. The gravy was extremely salty and the dry bread wasn’t good at all. My boyfriend also didn’t enjoy his eggs as they were over cooked. We mentioned that we didn’t enjoy our meal when the waitress finally got to us after we were long done picking at our food. She said there wasn’t anything she could do. I also mentioned that I didn’t like the food at the front and she said we should have sent it back, but the waitress was no where to be found the whole time. Our total was $56 for pot roast and chicken fried steak. Also, don’t even think about ordering a soft drink because it is 3.50 plus 2.50 per refill. Also, if you want cobbler, better opt out of the ice cream unless you’re willing to fork out an additional 6.50 on top of the cobbler. We both got tea and one slice of pie each. We opted not to tip because of the terrible service. We only saw our waitress when receiving the check, someone else brought our drinks and food. Overall I was extremely disappointed in the food and the “service.” DO NOT waste your money here. I recommend Benbrook cafe or pancake house by TCU...

I went to bed last night already thinking of breakfast. So, a quick search of nearby options and scrolling through reviews, I choose this restaurant. Walking in, it feels warm, like home, the people and staff definitely boosted that initial feeling. Big menu with lots of great options for breakfast. I ordered the Dixie Omelet with a ham slice, and a pancake. A cup of coffee and a glass of tea came quickly. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive and everything looked picture perfect. The Omelet was cooked perfectly and the ham was delicious. Then there was the pancake. I don't like drenching pancakes in syrup or any other toppings very often. I will typically tear a piece off taste the pancake itself. This one, was probably the best I've ever had. Fluffy yet had a light crust, the interior was extremely flavorful, and I finished it without every needing any condiments. Or utensils. Great breakfast!

I'd been in the hospital for over a month, and had just come from my first doctor's appointment. I had no food in the house, couldn't bear the thought of shopping, so I stopped by Dixie House. I had the CFS while there, then ordered the Pot Roast to take home. Both entrees were divine, and I made 3 meals out of the roast! Tender, and delicious! I couldn't resist the Coconut Cream Pie, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Their sweet tea is also great. I needed some home cooking that day, and if you have a similar craving, I highly recommend Dixie House! If you get there before 5, there's daily specials! Sooooo good! Thanks girls!❤️ I wish I'd gotten the German Chocolate Cake as well. Next time! Edit! The German Chocolate Cake is to die for!
