I keep trying to support businesses in my community but I think Iām done with this one. Every time I come I get poor service. Last year for Motherās Day my daughter treated me to a mani and pedi with the works. Iām not big on gel nails but after a few nudges from my nail tech and daughter I agreed to it. A few days later my nail polish began to chip and peel. I didnāt want my daughter to know that her gift was a problem but later I decided to call her. We discussed it, we looked on line to see how long gel nails should last. My daughter spent a whopping $160 there including tips. So I decided to call after mistranslation via phone. I drive up there to meet with someone. I showed them my nails and receipt. The owner told me that I had oil on my nails and thatās why they chipped. But āHisā nail tech didnāt check my nails to see if I was a good candidate for them so thatās on them right ??? Nope he said it was my fault and that I am not a good candidate for gel nails. I told him that I wasnāt aware of it and my daughter spent a lot of money on these nails, he agree to redo them but told me that if it happened again he would not redo them nor refund money. My daughter lived in Nebraska at the time and was just visiting for Motherās Day. Since she wouldnāt be back for months he stated he could not redo her gel nails (wreck) AND he refused to refund her. She vowed to never return this establishment as long as she lives. Me, Iām a softy plus these Top Nail salons have pretty much covered this whole territory of east FW so Iām kinda at their mercy if I donāt want it travel outside my area. So, I buckled. This year I brought my mom for Motherās Day again and I Specifically made an appointment for Mani and pedi only due to previous issues, I figured things should go well with that and itās less expensive if it doesnāt. As soon as we sat down they started the hard sale on upgrades, at first I said no but I caved for my mom, after all itās Motherās Day. I gladly accepted the pitch for her to have a manicure and pedicure With gel nails. But for me, I said No! I explained over and over that I had been down this road and according to the owner my nails are too oily for gel nails and he will not refund my money if they chip too early . The tech asked me who was the guy that told me that so I pointed him out, he happened to be there. I think he admitted to her because she kind rolled her eyes like really ?? She kept trying to push it but I held my ground. At first she told me that they work too hard and never get breaks. They work a lot of OT and donāt get paid. I was feeling terrible about it Until after I paid and tipped her but before she put on the polish because they needed to collect so that my polish wouldnāt mess up during Payment. After I paid she began to tell me ( not sure if it slipped? ) that she needed to work to get extra money to go on a trip and that the trip was very expensive. Yep she tried it. So any way I settled on a regular mani & pedi. I pay, I tip, and I go home. I need to learn to wait a few days before tipping in the future. ( note to self ) Two days later my polish is chipped on almost every nail. I call and then I go back up there to SHOW them. The all looked at it and asked who was my tech but she wasnāt there that day so I couldnāt point her out. But guess who was there ( lol) the guy who warned me right !!! I never received an apology I felt like I was the culprit in the situation and that somehow this is on me. When I left I looked at my nails again and I just wanted to cry. My cuticles looked bad the polish was chipping AGAIN and I just feel like Iād been had. Not sure whatās going on there but I canāt return out of respect for myself. I have manicured and polished my own nails better than this. They are licensed professionals Hope Top Nail...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is terrible! I went here when I first moved to the area and they were going through a remodel and I got a manicure with gel (shellac) nail polish, well my nails looked terrible and super lumpy but I figured it was just maybe the craziness they were going through well last Thursday before I went out of town I went to get a mani and pedi and I found a hand nail polish color (shellac/gel) I wanted but I wanted a different color on my feet the technician argued with me for 5 mins on how they have the matching nail color and I told I didnāt want that color on my toes I was looking for a dark red/Black cherry for my toes she told me those are the only polishes they have (the ones in a bin)š I said you guys donāt have regular nail polish she said no! So I got up and found the rack of nail polish myself and found the color no problem. My pedi was ok not really too relaxing she slightly cut one of toe nails too short cutting skin but not a huge deal. My mani however was the MOST TERRIBLE mani Iāve ever had! First the color I choose was like a very light baby pink similar to the one Meghan Markle wore very pretty very classy. Well apparently the technician didnāt realize that the color was too light to be placed directly on nails without a nude base color to make it show up so after 3 coats, the color was ok but suppppeeerrr uneven! It looked so streaky and she thought that this was ok and said ok do you like the color and normally I donāt say anything because I get it! Itās not going to look prefect however this was a hot mess!! A lumpy, streaky, uneven mess! And I told her no I donāt like it, itās terrible and I would like the color fixed and that maybe she could try a base color first and she refused saying that adding that to the top wouldnāt do anything and I explained no on the bottom and she stated that the color was already on and that all she could do is add glitter to take away from the unevenness and streakiness of the color! OMGOSH! At this point Iām so upset I donāt want to argue I leave on vacation in less than 24hrs I just want to go home so I let her add the glitter turning my Meghan Markle mani to a my little pony mess! Ugh so disastrous I paid and left and to top things off my mani doesnāt last the weekend in total I paid over $60 for a service that was terrible and didnāt last 5 days I DO NOT recommend this place at all not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLeft one nail salon for using an e-file to remove gel polish and taking off too much natural nail only to find a salon that is even worse!
I am 7 months pregnant and thought I'd treat myself to a relaxing pedicure. There was nothing relaxing about it.
Told the women doing my pedicure the water was too hot, she continued to put more hot water in. Then she commenced to using some super fast and hard e-file to remove gel polish and just kept going after the polish was removed. And she nicked my cuticle. I told her it was hurting.
I am so tired of going to all of these rinky dink nail salons that are on every corner. I've only been to a salon twice in the last 2-3 years, and everytime I am reminded why I don't want to return. I need to find a private nail tech, one preferably one that understands darker skin and how to moisturize it as well as is knowledgeable yet gentle with my feet.
The massage was horrible. This woman must have a grip issue because literally was just gliding her hands up and down my leg with absolutely no pressure.
A pedicure is supposed to be relaxing. A massage is supposed to feel like a massage. She didn't even massage my feet.
They also didn't disclose removing gel polish would be $5 until afterwards. I basically paid $5 for my toe nails to hurt. My toe nails feel the same way nails feel when acrylic tips are removed. Brittle and thin. Most pedicure places will lightly file the toes, but this woman damaged my nails and they changed ME for it. š¤¦šæāāļø
I couldn't help but give this place a 1 star, at least for this nail tech. First time here and I will not be back. šš«
Also, I am starting to realize that at these types of salons that we see on every corner, the men often provide much better service...
