I am rating the bourbon trail as i experianced it. I am fairly new to whiskey ( a year or 2) and i was hoping to really experiance the best of the bourbon trail and explore new things. I got burned out fast! The only experiance i loved was buffalo trace. They arent even on the "official" trail. They did an amazing job i got a great experience and some better whiskey. Friendly great people. Every where else was a dissapointment. Heaven hill, beam, makers was ok, old forester, michters, wild turkey. There are only some many tours a person can or wants go on not to mention it gets pricey if you want to go on every tour, buy every flight. If you want to have fun you have to pay for all the tours. The thing that left the greatest of poor taste in my mouth was many of these distilleries actually are overcharging for bottles compaired to what you can get them for at any local store. Feel they would rather nickel and dime you to death then help you fall in love with the whiskey. To me buffalo trace is winning like secretariat at belmont everyone else is stumbling over each other...
