Food Lion — Local services in Franklin

Its Franklin's only grocery store except for Walmart. So I give them 4 stars for making the effort to keep up with supply and demand . I see a change in the store, which came with new faces. The store is newly remodeled and is much nicer and brighter .

July 2,2024 Well let me say I have never seen Food Lion backed up with customers in the manner it was on July the 2nd. There were 3 self check out registers open and 1 regular register. Stockers were working diligently, which was the only plus I could see. The lines were backed up to the fruits and veggies on one side of the store and to the hot foods section in the opposite direction down the dry goods isle for the second and third self check out register. No Manager in sight. Finally, an employee that had been stocking call on the head set and asked if they wanted her to open a register. The customers said yes WE do and thank you. Customers were coming in taking one look at the back up and leaving. The young lady working the only open register was doing a great job getting the people out as fast as she could. And hats off to the young man tasked with watching the self check outs. People had full carts of groceries in self check out which also took...

I am very disappointed with the Franklin VA Food Lion! I specifically stopped buying groceries at walmart because of their self checkouts. But when I went in to The franklin store today there was only one cashier, and the rest was all self checkouts. I am no longer satisfied with being told stores cannot get employees. Food Lion and the rest of retail stores need to find a way to hire and maintain employees. Whether they need to increase wages with benefits or provide daycare etc I am not sure. I do know the profits are getting paid to someone but not to me for checking out and bagging my own groceries! The price of groceries are not being lowered to the consumer for their effort and time .I will no longer shop there and will be vocal to all I know until these companies realize that self checkouts do not benefit the consumers. Mr .Earl , one of the stockers . Always helps me with cases of water in my cart and to my car . When he is working . The other stockers are always helpful and polite . The cashiers are friendly and on top of sales and items to ask if you found everything okay or not . Sometimes I think , oh no . I forgot something . Lol !!! The manager , Mr. Larry , will go out of his way to help you . The deli is awesome . Always friendly with fresh items to help you with . Easy to find what I need as the isles are labeled . Yet , I shop in there so much . I know my isles . Lol !!! Using the MVP CARD really helps and saves money . Their produce dept is always clean and on top of fresh items in their dept . I am really pleased with this Food Lion . The best one around if you ask me . Fresh meats and good prices . Not one person has never been helpful or polite . I give my FOOD LION a 5 star rating...
