Update: Thank you for responding store staff. I appreciate you sharing your side. So much of human interaction is nuanced and cameras may not catch quite all of it. It is absolutely my fault for not reading your return policy if it was posted. I will certainly do better in small shops with that going forward. As a long time retail person and an avid reviewer I appreciate you reading the review and responding. Franklin is a lovely, fun town and, as stated before, so is your shop.

We were on vacation in Franklin and stopped in shop several times. Really cute store with a fun selection. I bought a small purse and had to return it the following day because my necessary items didn't fit. I was told at the counter there were no returns only store credit and exchanges. I expressed surprise. Another woman (the owner?) asked why I was returning it and I explained. At this point I would have opted to just keep the purse but the second woman( owner?) said for her to see if she could find it inthesystem and go ahead and return it. As someone who has worked in retail for 20+ years I felt this was reasonable. At no time was I rude but the attitude of the young lady helping me became very surly and unprofessional. What a disappointment on my last day in Franklin.I would have preferred to keep the purse and bypass...

This store has so many cute and unique things! Both my husband and I enjoyed looking through the items and are even considering going back before we return home to Maryland even though our hotel is 30 mins away and we had planned to stay in Nashville for the rest of our trip.

We unknowingly walked in here shortly before they closed on a Sunday. I did not really pay attention to the hours on the door when we walked in and am not from Franklin so didn’t realize most places were closing at 5. But the ladies in the store were so nice they didn’t even say anything to us about still being in the store when they closed. It was about 5:15 when I realized we were the only ones in the store and then went to the counter and asked if they closed at 5. I said sorry because I felt bad. I’m sure they wanted to close up and go home. Even then, the lady at the counter was nice and said it was ok. We bought several items here and if we would have come earlier and had more time I am sure we would have bought even more! I had wanted to find a cute shop to get gifts for our family and this was a great place to go. Their prices were also more reasonable than some of the other stores we had gone to on the same street. I came in because I wanted to use a gift card I had won at an auction for a charity ball for Davis House Child Advocacy Center. So, just for donating, they deserve 5 stars from me! However, this gorgeous gift shop is packed with lots of cute stuff! Home decor, Franklin/Nashville related items including super soft shirts/sweatshirts, doggie items and all kinds of gifts. Items are priced similar to other shops in the area. That being said, I bought the cutest charcuterie board (so cute I decided to add it to my already way too large collection) and a beautiful set of wood...vases? I don't know what to call them exactly but they earned a place on my already newly styled shelves in which I had to decide what to remove! Went in expecting to spend $25, left spending $100 and it was totally worth it. 🙂 After I got home, I thought about what a great gift that charcuterie board would be so I tried to find it online (because no way was I giving up mine) and the price at Tin Cottage beat them all! Only by a few dollars but still. I guess I'll have to make another trip out there to this...
