DO NOT GO HERE!!! Please don’t waste your money on this “small business”!! Small businesses need our support more than ever after the pandemic but Lauren at Rock Paper Scissors is not looking out for her client base. I ordered my wedding invitations from her and my Mother and I spent a great deal of time in her shop getting quotes and choosing the perfect fonts etc. We were very clear about our budget and expectations and when Lauren added a ribbon tied around my invitations I thought it was of course adorable, but I asked her if the ribbon would be expensive. Adding such a fancy detail would surely raise our price, Lauren proceeded to tell me not to worry about the ribbon cost. I asked her to please include the cost of ribbon in my total. Lauren again, told me that the ribbon was on her! Fast forward to my order being ready, I arrived in her shop and the ribbon was not even ready for me at pick up! I asked the girl (who is so rude btw) behind the counter if Lauren was there and that I had ordered ribbon! This girl has to call Lauren and ask her about my order…. Then Lauren has the nerve to try to charge me $68 for the ribbon on top of the $850 I had already paid, even after Lauren had assured me that the ribbon was included. I asked the girl several times to speak with Lauren that day but she refused. I ended up leaving without the ribbon because I didn’t think it was right and I decided to email Lauren directly. This situation still isn’t handled as Lauren has refused to send me my ribbon that we agreed on, and only agreed to pay half and for me to pay the other half. MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! I’ve learned that many vendors swindle and use naive wedding planners since most people planning a wedding have never done so before. They aren’t sure what questions to ask etc. I decided to use a small business because I thought it would be a more trusting experience but I was wrong. Lauren at Rock Paper Scissors is a LIAR and untrustworthy. The exact opposite of what you want in a small business experience. Don’t waste your time, just order through the Knot or Wedding Wire, at least it’s all in writing and you can customize your orders yourself. You’ll also save like $800!! Lauren- thanks...
Read moreI stopped by the store in May on a weekday and spent over half an hour discussing my wedding reception invitation needs with the store owner herself. I had some special circumstances and she assured me she would work with me to meet what I needed. I looked over her invitation samples and she encouraged me to take photos. It appeared it would run about $400-500 for the 100 invitations, RSVP's, envelopes, etc, so not too a large order, but not a small one either.
A week later I called the store to arrange a design appointment with her. The owner was off that day, but the sales person suggested that I fill in the website form and that she would herself go into the system that day and insure the form was forwarded to the owner's mailbox. After waiting 3 days with zero response, I called the store again and explained the situation to yet another person. They took my name and number and assured me the owner would call me.
I waited 3-4 days with no return call. This occurred multiple additional times over and over a three week period with never a single returned phone call. Each time I explained the situation in detail.
I finally told the person who answered my 6th or 7th call to the store that I was extremely frustrated and would willingly work with another designer should the owner simply be too busy. She assured me either the owner herself or the person who I spoke with on the phone would FOR CERTAIN call me that day to set up an appointment. PROMISE!!
I waited an additional week with zero response then found another local printer, who willingly took my business and did a great job, all within a week's time, for less $$. And only a few blocks away!
So stay away from this business if you expect good customer service! They talk a good game but...
Read moreI have been in the shop about 4 or 5 times, intending to buy stationery every time. Only once have I purchased, simply because the service was so terrible each time. If I was acknowledged at all, I felt that I was doing the owner a disservice by showing up. The last time that I went, the presumed owner was cursing on a phone call for quite a long time. I had to walk around the store for an extra while in hopes that she would finally be able to ring me up. When another employee came to the front to check out my mother's purchase, she was exceptionally rude when my mother reminded her that a few items in her stack were on sale. I love the selection of the shop, and I would love to support local business... but the lack of customer service precludes...
