Update: It’s been almost a year and I’ve lowered this rating from 4 stars to 2 stars. Our option of our initial experience hasn’t changed. Loved the sales team. And, we love the furniture for the most part. But, we’ve had issues with the two gray recliners by the fireplace in the picture and Fitzgerald has failed to resolve those issues. Originally, the backs were installed incorrectly on both chairs. They looked crooked and had noticeable lopsided gaps between the back and sides. We called and Fitzgerald sent a technician who said the frames were bent at the factory and couldn’t be adjusted by him. He recommended replacement and I signed off on his assessment. Fitzgerald did ultimately replace both chairs but not until I went into the store after several weeks and spoke to a manager and complained about the lack of follow up/response. When the replacement chairs arrived, one was perfect. The other had an issue where it doesn’t close fully, leaving about an inch of open gap between the footrest and the bottom of the chair. This was noted immediately with the delivery team before they left. The delivery team said there was no way to adjust that but they agreed it didn’t look correct, compared to the other chair. They took notes and I signed it. Again I was assured I would hear from Fitzgerald. We never heard back and I decided to just drop it. But we’ll never buy there again. Bottom line, the up front service was great. The service once they had our money… not great at all. It’s a shame. We love the furniture but did expect it to work correctly. ****************** We recently went through the process of buying new living room furniture. We were looking for a couch, a recliner, and two matching chairs for either side of our fireplace. We started our search at Fitzgerald but went to many other places in the Frederick and Hagerstown areas. Throughout the process we kept coming back to Fitzgerald and ultimately bought from them. Our salesperson, Joni Saunders, was outstanding. She was low pressure, answered all our questions (and we had a LOT), and was patient with us as we visited. several times to compare what we liked at Fitzgerald with what we’d seen at other stores and try to make decisions. By the end, she’d laugh when she saw us walk in again. In the end, Fitzgerald was the best mix of style, quality, and price. When we finally committed, we were told our furniture would take 4-6 weeks to come in. We were pleasantly surprised to get a call the second week letting us know it was in! Scheduling delivery was a piece of cake. Only two things kept this from being a five star review. The first is that most other stores provided the option to custom order in different fabrics or colors to match decor. Fitzgerald didn’t offer that. What you saw was generally what you got, at least with the items we were most interested in. Some prices had one other option, but not a large selection of options. Second, they do not haul away your old furniture. This appears to be a holdover from the Covid pandemic. They did provide contact information for a person to haul away but he charges a minimum of $250 and goes up from there. We ended up hauling our old furniture to the dump ourselves for the cost of an $11 tipping fee and an hour of my family’s time. Not everyone has a truck and the ability to take time off to get to the dump during business hours though. When you spend several thousand dollars on new furniture, both delivery and haul away should be complimentary. Having said that, it in no way reflects on the customer service we received from Joni. She gets 5 stars for sure. She was fantastic to work with, as were the other sales people who jumped in when she was with other customers or not available. We definitely recommend Fitzgerald to anyone looking for furniture. I’ve attached not the best photo, but we’re very happy with our new furniture!

We had so many problems with Fitzgerald, but I'll try to make this short. They installed our bathroom tile with the wrong grout color. They wanted to cover up the wrong grout color with a temporary coating (which the company who made the coating said would only last a year on a shower wall), but Fitzgerald tried to tell us it was a permanent stain. They did not want to fix their mistake properly. Now less than a year later, the shower/tub which is rarely used has issues. All of the caulk is cracked, so we can't used the shower until we fix it. We had a another contractor out and were told that the grout was improperly applied, so the caulk cannot stick properly. So, now we have to pay to have the poor work done by Fitzgerald repaired. Sorry, I only took one pic, but this is what all the caulk looks like now (tub to wall, tile to tile, tub to tile). INTERESTINGLY- our initial one star Google review is now gone. Seriously, you will regret getting tile work done by these folks. When they mess it up, and they will mess it up, they won't fix it properly. But, if you love poor workmanship, major hassles, and having to pay someone to fix a mess that you already paid for, maybe you should give them a call.

First, the quality of the furniture is exceptional and equally as important has been the enjoyable service we've received from the folks who work there. Most notably, Joni Saunders has been kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and wanting only for us to find what makes us happy. I'm including a handful of photos, because we're still in the decision-making process, and these are the items we're choosing from. Thank you, Joni, for making this such a fun experience. We would recommend Fitzgerald Home Furnishings to anyone looking for home pieces that will last a lifetime.

My husband and I have had a wonderful experience with Fitzgerald Home Furnishings! First, the quality of the furniture is exceptional and equally as important has been the enjoyable service we've received from the folks who work there. Most notably, Joni Saunders has been kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and wanting only for us to find what makes us happy. I'm including a handful of photos, because we're still in the decision-making process, and these are the items we're choosing from. Thank you, Joni, for making this such a fun experience. We would recommend Fitzgerald Home Furnishings to anyone looking for home pieces that will last a lifetime.

I had the pleasure of working with Tamar, a salesperson at Fitzgerald Home Furnishings, and I cannot express enough how satisfied I am with the service she provided. From the moment I walked into the store until the delivery of my living room sectional and formal living room furnishings, Tamar went above and beyond to ensure a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience.

BEWARE and do your homework!! If you value your money and time, do not shop at Fitzgerald Home Furnishings! As soon as you walk into the store, you are greeted by a “consultant”. The young lady who greeted me was pleasant and not pushy but to work out a deal she had to constantly speak with her manager, Tim. Tim obviously did not want to make a sell and it would have been to his advantage and the consultant’s not mine! I fell in love with a recliner (purchase price $1,201.00) that fit my petite stature. I was told it would take 10-12 weeks (who ever heard of such and then didn’t offer a discount of any kind!) to have it in stock and to have it delivered would be based on the total cost (again, ridiculous!) which would be approximately $169.00 and I could get a warranty for 5 years for another $149.00! Thank God and my son, when I returned to Fitzgerald to purchase the recliner, at cost (no discount), the consultant went to Tim and told him I was willing to pay cash (stupid me!); to purchase the floor model (Fitzgerald could wait the 10-12 week for a new recliner) and I would take it myself that day (so, no delivery fee); to close the deal. Actually, I also have to thank Tim because the consultant came back and said it was store policy “not to sell floor items”! I left dishearten debating whether to order or not but my son insisted I take pictures and research the recliner online. To my surprise, the recliner was missing a major component (swivel glider) so no wonder it fit me perfectly! Also, it was less expensive and will be delivered (free!) in a much shorter time! Lastly, I called the consultant back to tell her what I had discovered online. The female who answered the phone didn’t know what she was doing – transferred me to parts so I had to call again and received no apology for her error…the consultant never apologized for having an unfinished recliner in the show room - and I am pretty sure the manager, Tim could care less about me posting this review. ...
