Iâd leave no stars if I could. I was at this location last night. While I was checking out I overheard two younger boys about 14 years old asking a female worker to buy a paper bag. While they were waiting to see if they could buy the bag, a man named Kevin who also worked there came over and one of the boys was talking to him and asking him questions. After they were cleared to buy the bag they left. I was about done checking out myself when the young lady who helped the boys turned to Kevin and said âoh no, the boy left his plastic card holder from GameStop here. Should I go after him and give it to him?â To which Kevin responded, âNo, Iâm going to take that and keep it. If he doesnât realize he left it then and come back, itâs mine.â To which she replied, âno donât do that he was so sweet.â Kevin proceeded to say âwell he was okay, but his friend was annoying me with all of the questions so Iâm going to keep it because of thatâ After hearing that I immediately left the store and found the boys and told the kid he needed to go find the female worker to get his item back. I was not going to suggest he speak to Kevin considering the unsettling statements about keeping someone elseâs property. It was disturbing to hear this. The boy was so excited and grateful someone had found it. He eagerly left to go back. After depositing my purchases with my husband I went back to the store and asked to speak with the manager. I also have two young boys and the though someone would steal from them just because they âasked too Many questionsâ just didnât sit right with me. When I asked the female worker who the manager was, to my horror she said it was, Kevin, the man who intended to keep the boys items and so freely talked about it. I explained to her my over hearing the conversation between them. Her response was âoh no! You heard that. Uhhh Iâm sorry. â I just politely said please go get the Kevin and I intend to call corporate customer service. When Kevin came over and I reiterated what I heard, he flat out told me I was wrong and lying and he would never say that. When I pointed out I donât know the boys or have any reason to be standing in front of him other than to point out a horrible thing he did, heâs was like, âweâll just call someone then, but nothing is going to happen because you are lying.â I at this point I did lightly cuss at him, something Iâm not proud of, and take the corporate number. As a mother and a manager of a rest for over 10 years, I could never imagine one of my employees, especially another manger behaving and speaking so freely in this manner. So I intend to call corporate today. Iâm so deeply disgusted by the Manager Kevinâs behavior and I canât imagine a general manager to behave this way. I pray he isnât that person I beg anyone who reads this not to shop in a place where the management encourage theft of...
Read moreSo, I popped into Five Below on Thursday around 6:45 PM, thinking I'd be in and out with plenty of time left of my half hour break. Six minutes after grabbing what I needed, I I saw the endless checkout line! The young cashier was a trooper, battling a massive crowd all by himself while self-checkouts were closed and other associates were MIA. I was very patient because I felt bad for this kid. I really hope he wasn't in the store by himself. I thought, surely someone will come to his aid.
Hallelujah! A woman strolled up to the register, and we all thought relief was on the way. Nope! She pulled out her phone and started textingâ glancing up and clearly seeing the massive line only to disappear and leaving this kid alone again. He was in such high spirits, so friendly, so patient, He truly was a rockstar. When it was finally my turn, I asked the young hero if anyone was coming to help him. Turns out, the woman was his assistant manager. As a fellow retail manager, I can't imagine walking away from a line like that. It's one thing to be understaffed. But it's a completely different thing to ignore your customers, especially when you are in charge...
Read morefrustrating experience at Five Below. When I visited the store, the staff insisted that I use the self-checkout option, which proved to be quite challenging with my young daughter in tow. Sadly, the staff did not show any willingness or interest in assisting me during this difficult process.
Navigating the self-checkout with a young child was not only inconvenient but also added unnecessary stress to my shopping experience. Despite my obvious struggle, the staff did not offer any guidance or support, which left me feeling disappointed and...
