This place is an absolute scam; however, I was able to scam GameStop back. I came in to trade my used switch in for money. The switch works fine expect for a few minor details such as that one of the joy cons cover on the side fell off, which could be easily fixed in literally 5 seconds. The employee sees this issue and makes extremely rude remarks, saying that this is a major problem and that I will not be getting the full value for it despite literally everything else in the box works fine expect for the joy con. The guy winds up giving me 100 dollars (when typically you get between 120 or 200 dollars in perfect condition). Thus I got 1/3 of what I paid for it. Yet, this is where I comes into play. This employee made a huge mistake: he never checked the switch to see any problems with it. The switch can not connect to the tv, which to send it to Nintendo is 100+ dollars. Also, trust me that this is a liquid defect in the switch because I used 3 different docks, 3 hdmi cables, 2 chargers, 4 TVs, and did everything on the website, yet it still didn't work. Plus, I took it into a different GameStop earlier and they said it was a hardware issue. Furthermore, the joys cons both have drift and one is broken, which is a minimum 80 dollars for both. Additionally, the battery takes forever to charge and barley holds a charge, so it will need to be replaced for about 20 dollars. Not to mention, the hdmi cable and charging cable are faulty and not even from Nintendo themselves, so then both need to be replaced. Therefore, GameStop just lost at least100 dollars worth of repairs and paid me more than what it should have been. I hope all GameStop's go out of business like the other two local locations. Ā Ā Ā Read moreCrumby employees, very disorganized! I found a rare out of print Fire Emblem game available at this location, 90 minutes from my house. I tried the website "request to reserve a copy" service and also called in to reserve it for the following day as I could not make it there in time.
Next day, I show up, and the girl working there tells me its reserved for someone else. I explain that I tried the web request and the phone request and she says theres nothing she can do, because the only reason it is in the stores inventory was because another customer had requested it to be shipped there, and he was picking it up 4 days later. That puzzled me, as their policy was only to hold games for 48 hours, let alone the fact that a separate employee told me I had it reserved. I ask what the point of reserving a game on their website is if its already reserved by someone else, and why they could waive their 48-hr policy for this other customer at all. She tells me that she was doing someone else a favor. I ask how they can do me a favor and another employee steps in and says "Dude, you're not getting this game."
"Dude?" I drove 90 minutes each way after making 2 reservations where I was told I could pick it up? God-awful customer service and total disconnect between employee communication.
Lastly, I asked what happened to my online web reservation, and she said she doesnt know. Literally
