SHAMEFUL, HARASSING, Treated me like a THIEF. In the lingerie department at the Macy's in Fashion Fair, sales person Carol trailed me for 5-10 minutes while I shopped for bras. First her eyes honed in on as if to say, "that's the target" then she started to follow me. She was always within 3 feet behind me with her eyes on what I was doing only looking down for a second when I turned to look at her and then putting her eyes back on me when she thought I wasn't looking anymore. At one point I turned my head to look in another direction pretending that I was going to walk in that direction and when turned I made a quick move away disappearing out of her line of sight. I then walked around behind her to find her with her head between the racks looking at the place where I had stool a moment earlier, only now here head was tilting from side to side trying to find where I had gone. She never asked to help me, she never asked if I needed a room, she never said a word to me. Although I went into the fitting room I was now so angry that I didn't even try anything on. Instead I went to complain to the Manager of the Lingerie Department. Her name was Mary. First Mary tried to convince me that it couldn't have happened saying, "Well, we have security for that so I don't know why she (Carol) would do that," to which I responded "Well, she did". And then I brought up that I believed I was being singled out because I was Mexican, to which she responded, "Oh, when I come in here with a hat I get followed too," she said this as she rolled her eyes giving out an exasperated sigh. I then told here, "Well, then that's terrible". I also find it hard to believe that anyone would follow a 50 year old blonde woman and treat her like a shoplifter, especially if she hold a management position at that store. Mary then tried to tell me that Carol most likely was just trying "to help me". Carol NEVER once spoke to me, NEVER asked me if I needed help looking for a size, NEVER offered to start a room for me, NOTHING. Mary pretended not have heard me say this and went on that Carol was only following me around to see if needed help. To this I responded with, "For 20 years I've lived in 3 different major cities. I know what good customer service is. They ask you, 'can I start a room for you? would you like me to help you find a size? is this for some certain occasion? That's good customer service, not following me around seeing if I'm going to steal". Mary then just looked at me dead pan as if she could not understand why being treated like thief was a big deal. I then showed her my old Harvard I.D. I told her I was probably one of the only Harvard grads within 100 miles and this is how I get treated? I went on to tell her that I hadn't lived in Fresno in 20 years and this is what I come home to? She just stareed at me as if to say, "Are you done yet?" Then I pointed out Carol's gang related tattoo on her hand. I mentioned that I was tolerant person, which I normally am, but seriously she's watching ME to see if I'm shoplifting? REALLY? At this point Mary keep her face expression dead pan with a hint of disgust. I then told Mary that I was planning on spending $200-$300 there at Macy's that day because it was my day and I had planned it but now I wasn't going to spend anything. Manager Mary of Lingerie just said, "Well, I'll talk to her (Carol)," and turned around to look down at a few folder she was carrying. But given that fact that she tried to talk me that I had witnessed someone treat me like a shoplifter, as if I was that dumb enough to buy her load of BS, and that she tried to minimize and dismiss the gravity of this action tells me that she probably didn't do a thing. I hope this review helps other Macy shoppers. I myself will go back to shopping for lingerie at Victoria Secrets. I hope no one else has to endure this type of humiliation. As I said to Mary, "I'm a Harvard grad--I don't need to steal a $30...
Read moreUpdated 4/14/19: I have not purchased MAC Cosmetics since being treated so horribly there. I highly doubt I will ever buy MAC Cosmetics ever again, Now that I have found drug store makeup (target) is the same in quality if not better in texture & fragrance, theres no reason to ever waste my money at a store who treats customers that way.
The “manager” at MAC Cosmetics at Fashion Fair Mall is the most unprofessional, rude, incompetent person ever. Had the misfortune of coming in contact with this woman on Christmas Eve. I had literally just picked up the item from the counter where you do online pick ups (5ft away inside same store) She inspected the makeup I was returning like I was trying to return something used looking at carefully for any sign of wear. She made me feel like a criminal the way she went over my return like If I was trying to pull a scam. She proceeded to refund my money “the same way I paid “ Macy’s requires this. This woman never asked to see my card where the return would be refunded. She was entering numbers away into the register and handed me back a receipt. After leaving the store and checking closely I realized she had refunded my money to an incorrect card. I quickly returned to the store to ask for help (the same woman who initially made this mistake) instead of helping me she quickly wanted to make this make fault saying there was nothing she could do. After wasting an hour she finally called over her supervisor a woman named Mary who oversees the makeup department. Mary was no help, in fact Mary told not to follow up any further regarding this woman’s mistake. She told me the woman had been put through enough and had learned her lesson and I should not bother calling anyone else regarding my incident. Very unprofessional. I will be following up with Macy’s at a...
